Full House‘s cast wants to do another spin-off despite Bob Saget’s unexpected death in January.  The actor was known for hosting America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997, and voicing older Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother. But he was best known for playing Danny Tanner in the ’80s/’90s family sitcom Full House, as well as its offshoot, Netflix’s Fuller House. His co-stars over the years, as well as his fans, were shocked when news broke out that Saget died at the age of 65.

Despite Saget’s real-life raunchy brand of humor, he effectively played a dorky single dad in Full House. As Danny, the straight-laced, clean-freak patriarch of the Tanners, he imparted valuable lessons to DJ, (Candace Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweeting), and Michelle (played alternately by Ashley and Mar-Kate Olsen). Even as his daughters grew up and started to have their own families in Fuller House, he remained an important figure in their lives, providing the same guidance to his kids and grandkids. Understandably, it would be odd for the Tanners to come together again for another spin-off without its leader, but Full House‘s cast says they’re up for it.

Several Full House actors attended the ’90s Con in Hartford, CT, and talked to TODAY about the possibility of another offshoot. Surprisingly, all of them want to do a Fuller House follow-up despite Saget’s passing. In fact, Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler, said that while “it would be hard… Bob would want that.” Read their full comments below:

Andrea Barber: “There’s a lot of moms bringing their little girls — it’s such a wonderful full circle moment to see these moms who were like, ‘I grew up with you guys, and now my daughters are growing up with you on ‘Fuller House.'”

Dave Coulier: “Like, okay, we’ll do ‘Fullest House.’ I think we would in a heartbeat.”

Candace Cameron-Bure: “I think that’s one of the greatest legacies that he’s going to leave, is that he gets to be America’s dad, and people get to take that memory away. That will never go away.”

Full House ran for nine seasons, while Fuller House had five. That said, some cast members of the Netflix series have been open about saying that they were expecting at least another year from the streaming giant — even saving some plotlines for the spin-off’s potential season 6. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. But at least the offshoot was able to come up with an emotionally satisfying finale with the triple wedding of DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy. It’s worth noting that no concrete indication that Full House will be revived for the second time at this point, but at least the cast, specifically the ones who attended ’90s Con, are in unison in wanting to revisit the sitcom again moving forward.

In the event that Full House gets another spin-off, it will be interesting to see how they handle Danny’s absence. As previously mentioned, the character was the show’s moral compass. The girls, and even Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Coulier), were all so close to him. It would be heartbreaking to lose him, but the Tanners have gone through a lot, and if the potential offshoot decides that Danny has also passed away in the sitcom, it’s safe to say that the best way to honor him is to keep the clan as close as possible.
