Genshin Impact 2.6 Character Leaks: Yelan May Be Playable

The beta test for Genshin Impact 2.6 has already started to be datamined, meaning leaks have started to trickle out online recently. As usual, this means alleged character leaks for Genshin Impact‘s next update are out in full force. One such leak revolves around Yelan, a rumored new character, which suggests she’ll finally be playable in Genshin Impact 2.6.

Genshin Impact character leaks are always exciting since it gives fans early glimpses of which characters may be playable soon. Genshin Impact leaks are usually pretty accurate, but they’re always subject to change, so they should be taken with a grain of salt. While the newly rebranded HoYoverse (previously miHoYo) has yet to give out any official information on Yelan, it’s looking increasingly likely that she’ll debut in Genshin Impact‘s 2.6 update – at the very least an NPC, but perhaps even a new Banner character.

This leak comes via Project Celestia and others on Twitter. Project Celestia is a well-known account for sharing Genshin Impact leaks that is typically pretty reliable, even though the images are fan-made renders and not official designs. These were created from datamining in the Genshin Impact 2.6 beta. As with past Genshin Impact datamines, this means some design changes are expected, but Yelan will most likely look a lot like the fan rendering. This is similar to characters like Yae Miko or Rosaria, both of whom were datamined and whose designs didn’t change much from fan renderings to official looks.

Why Yelan May Be Playable In Genshin Impact 2.6

Very little is known about Genshin Impact 2.6 at this time, although HoYoverse previously announced The Chasm would be coming during the update (and concept art was shared during the 2.5 livestream). Additionally, official images and information of Kamisato Ayato was shared on social media accounts, and while he wasn’t outright confirmed for the update, Ayato is almost guaranteed to be the new 5-star Banner character in Genshin Impact 2.6. This means Yelan, if she is playable, will most likely be a 4-star character.

Leakers have also suggested Yelan won’t be playable until Genshin Impact 2.7, believing Ayato will be the only new character for the 2.6 update. However, since data for Yelan is allegedly in the 2.6 beta, this points toward her appearing in the game at least in some capacity – even if it’s only as an NPC encounter for now. Until HoYoverse officially reveals Yelan for Genshin Impact, there’s just no way to know for sure.
