HoYoverse (formerly known as miHoYo) revealed a new open-world area known as the Chasm during Genshin Impact’s version 2.6 live stream, where players can explore vast environments and underground mines. Along with the new explorable areas and activities, the version 2.6 update will also introduce new Artifacts for players to obtain. The Echoes of an Offering and the Vermillion Hereafter will be available during the update and will each offer unique effects to strengthen characters in the game.

The Chasm in Genshin Impact will contain new Domains that players will need to find and unlock. Upon unsealing the Domains, gamers can complete the challenge in order to obtain the new Artifacts. Both the Echoes of an Offering and the Vermillion Hereafter will be within the same Domain, meaning players cannot choose a particular Artifact. Instead, the Artifacts will be randomly generated and gamers will need to farm repeatedly to acquire the desired item.

Equipping and using different sets of Artifacts will result in different buffs for the character. Players can either obtain the 2-piece bonus effect by equipping two of the same Artifacts or use four of the same Artifacts to acquire the 4-piece bonus effect. Gamers can even combine different types of Artifacts for varying effects. Despite Artifacts having a crucial role in developing stronger characters, the Artifacts RNG System in Genshin Impact can be punishing for players as obtaining a specific piece with the correct main and sub-stats is dependent on chance.

Genshin Impact: Echoes of an Offering & Vermillion Hereafter Explained

When equipping two pieces of the Echoes of an Offering, the character’s ATK will increase by 18%. Using four pieces of the Artifact will grant the character an additional effect. Whenever the user’s Normal Attacks strike an enemy, there will be a 36% chance the Artifact will trigger a Valley Rite effect. The Valley Rite will increase the character’s Normal Attack damage by 70% of ATK and will dispel 0.05 seconds after a Normal Attack. If the triggering effect fails, then the odds of the Valley Rite effect activating will increase by 20%. The Echoes of an Offering synergizes most with characters who rely on Normal Attacks like Kamisato Ayato in Genshin Impact.

The Vermillion Hereafter will increase ATK by 18% when using two pieces of the Artifact. Equipping four pieces will give the user a Nascent Light effect, which can be activated after using the character’s Elemental Burst. Upon receiving the Nascent Light, ATK strength is further increased by 8% for 16 seconds. An additional 10% ATK bonus will be granted when the user’s HP decreases, which can occur a maximum of four times. The Vermillion Hereafter is more situational compared to many other Artifacts as very few characters possess the Talent to lose health. However, the Artifact is best suited for Xiao in Genshin Impact because his Elemental Burst will continuously drain his HP.

The Genshin Impact 2.6 update is expected to be released on March 30, 2022. Upon being released, players will have the opportunity to pull for Kamisato Ayato or Venti, along with Ayaka during phase 2 of the update. The Chasm will also open new opportunities, events, and challenges for all gamers to enjoy.
