While Genshin Impact has an ever-growing roster of playable characters, many of these leak ahead of updates. The free-to-play RPG from miHoYo has had a a number of character leaks and rumors circulating online, especially recently with the Version 1.5 content looming. One of the characters who has yet to appear in-game is Cyno. Here’s everything fans should know about this mysterious young man.

Thanks to a beta for Genshin Impact 1.5, many new features and details have already leaked online ahead of miHoYo’s usual livestream announcements. This includes a housing system allegedly called Homeworld, new events, and story quests. A number of new playable characters have also been heavily rumored for Version 1.5, like Eula and Yanfei. Still, miHoYo has yet to confirm many of the leaks that have surfaced online, and beta features are always subject to change.

While Cyno has not been rumored for the 1.5 update, the character is presumably coming to Genshin Impact eventually. A number of new characters have been introduced in the official Genshin Impact manga on miHoYo’s site, which fans can read for free. This includes characters like Il Dottore, a Fatui Harbinger who plays a large role in the manga but has yet to appear in-game, and others like Cyno.

Genshin Impact: Will Cyno Ever Be Playable?

In addition to being shown in the manga, Cyno was also a part of the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview that miHoYo showed off prior to Genshin Impact‘s release. All of this seems to indicate Cyno will be a playable character in Genshin Impact at some point. The biggest question remaining, however, is when fans should expect to find him in-game.

A number of characters from Genshin Impact, like the cat-tailed Lynette, were show during the Storyline Preview and have yet to appear in the game. While Cyno’s manga and video appearances seem to prove he’ll be in the RPG at some point, there’s no sign he’ll be introduced into the game anytime soon. Cyno is a young man from the nation of Sumeru, which probably means he won’t be in the game until that nation is introduced.

For now, only Liyue and Monstadt are in Genshin Impact, but the nation of Inazuma is expected to arrive soon. This means Sumeru, and presumably Sumerun characters like Cyno, probably won’t be in Genshin Impactfor a long time. Although, Cyno could be introduced earlier on to give players a glimpse at the new nation and its culture.
