Genshin Impact Character Leaks: Who Lynette Is

New and playable characters are a major part of Genshin Impact, the free-to-play RPG from miHoYo. The online game updates every six weeks, and so far, at least one new character has arrived with each version. However, there are a growing number of leaks and official footage showing off many characters that aren’t in the game yet. One of these characters in Genshin Impact is Lynette.

Ever since Genshin Impact released last year, fans have been clamoring for more characters, even with the steady new arrivals in each update. It’s a hugely popular part of the game, and character leaks and rumors have persisted ever since. Last year, an alleged datamine leaked eight new characters for Genshin Impact, which included characters like Rosaria who have appeared in the game since.

In addition to those leaked characters, fans online have shared screenshots of other characters, like Ayaka and Dainsleif, who appeared in Genshin Impact‘s closed beta or earlier footage. Even miHoYo has officially leaked (intentionally or not) some of its own characters through free manga on Genshin Impact‘s site or previews of the game before it released. One of these early previews showed off Lynette, a human woman with cat-like ears and a tail. Here’s everything known about Lynette so far.

Genshin Impact Character Leaks: Will Lynette Be Playable?

Lynette debuted as part of the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview from miHoYo last year. The video showed off many interesting characters who’ve yet to appear in Genshin Impact, including Lynette’s male counterpart, Lyney. The two are supposedly twins from the nation of Fontaine. Because Lynette has appeared in official Genshin Impact media, there’s a good chance she will become playable at some point in the future – it’s just a matter of when.

While leaks continue pouring out for Version 1.4 (which arrives in March), some leakers have tried to guess which characters will become playable in 2021. There’s nothing official to suggest Lynette will be playable this year, especially since Genshin Impact‘s storyline is still primarily focused on the nations of Mondstadt and Liyue – so nations like Fontaine could be years away from appearing in-game. However, characters from other nations have appeared in the game already, like the powerful Tartaglia from Snezhnaya, so Lynette may appear in Genshin Impact before the nation of Fontaine does.

For now, there’s nothing official from miHoYo regarding Lynette’s playability or release date. However, since she’s featured in an official video already, there’s a good chance she’ll become playable in Genshin Impact at some point.
