Genshin Impact Factions & What Their Goals Are
The world of Genshin Impact is filled with factions and characters that are sometimes hard to keep track of. Between the Liyue Qixing and the Knights of Favonius – not to mention the Fatui Harbingers and the Adepti – it can get confusing figuring out which characters belong to which group, and what each faction’s longterm goals are.
When Genshin Impact first launched, it was praised for its open-world exploration and character-drive gameplay. Nearly two dozen playable characters were in the game when it released, and the 1.1 update added even more. Genshin Impact Patch 1.2 will add even more characters, making the growing roster of factions and individuals even more massive.
There are a lot of strange and exotic places, names, and concepts to keep up with in Genshin Impact. However, of the main factions featured in the game so far, it’s become clear what each group is trying to do within the narrative. Individuals within the factions may have different motives, such as how Tartaglia’s motives may differ from the rest of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, but each group has a clear goal in mind.
Who The Knights Of Favonius Are In Genshin Impact
The first faction encountered in Genshin Impact is the Knights of Favonius. Early starter characters like Kaeya, Lisa, and Amber are all members of this group. Jean, a playable character who’s unlocked through the Wish gacha pull system, is also a member of this group. The Knights are lawfully good and serve as protectors of Mondstadt. Early in the adventure, the Knights of Favonius work with the Traveler to prevent Stormterror from destroying the kingdom. The Grandmaster, Varka, is currently away during these events, but will likely play an important role in a future update of the game. Overall, the purpose of the Knights of Favonius is to protect Mondstadt and its many citizens.
Who The Liyue Qixing Are In Genshin Impact
The Liyue Qixing is a group of seven wealthy merchants who govern the nation of Liyue. Although a fairly minor faction in Genshin Impact, they serve an important role in the story content that takes place in Liyue, and playable characters like Ningguang and Keqing are a member of this faction. Their goals are primarily to keep the trade and industry thriving in Liyue, a nation known for its business-centric culture.
Who The Adepti Are In Genshin Impact
The Adepti are magical people and gods who have formed an alliance in Liyue. Their goal is to protect the nation from demons and monsters. Most of the gods take on the form of beasts, and the faction is led by the Prime Adepti, who is also the Geo Archon, Rex Lapis. Important Genshin Impact characters like Xiao are a part of this group, which has been protecting Liyue for thousands of years.
Who The Eleven Fatui Harbingers Are In Genshin Impact
The Fatui serve as one of the main antagonistic groups in Genshin Impact. Hailing from the region of Shezhanaya, the group is ruled by the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Members of this faction include Childe, aka Tartaglia, and a recently revealed character named Scaramouche.
Ultimately, this militaristic group’s goal seems to be ruling all of Teyvat. However, there’s a lot of in-fighting with this group in regards to what methods they should use, especially between Tartaglia and La Signora.
Who The Abyss Order Is In Genshin Impact
The other main antagonistic faction in Genshin Impact is the Abyss Order. This group is responsible for corrupting the dragon Dvalin into becoming Stormterror, and it’s currently led by the Traveler’s sibling. Most of the enemies in the game are a part of the Abyss Order, and it seems like their primary goals are driven by the hatred of humanity. Ultimately, it remains to be seen what their true motives are, but it may have to do with the Unknown God featured in the opening sequence of the game.
Currently, these are the main factions featured in Genshin Impact. However, that list will continue to grow as new regions are introduced through future updates. The many characters and factions that make up the game can sometimes be hard to keep track of, but most serve to aid the Traveler and their companions on their quest.
