Genshin Impact: How to Complete Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering

Version 2.6 of Genshin Impact brings the new region, The Chasm. While this region consists of towering cliffs and guarded treasure on the surface, players must first complete the World Quest, “Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering” in order to access the Underground Mines below. This questline can be activated via the NPC Xu or Lan beside Liyue’s Adventurers’ Guild in Genshin Impact.

The Liyue Qixing has placed a seal on The Chasm’s entrance to deter miners from entering the dangerous cavern. This seal is held in place by a mechanism called a Bedrock Key. These floating Geo structures can be taken down by using cage-shaped geo formations activated by a Geogranum.

There are five total Bedrock Keys placed around the upper half of The Chasm. They must be destroyed properly in order to complete the “Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering” quest and break the seal. As The Chasm contains a lot of mechanisms that require Geo skills, players should keep a Geo character in their party while exploring, such as Genshin Impact’s Zhongli or Claymore-user Noelle.

How To Break Bedrock Keys & Access The Underground Mines In Genshin Impact

The World Quest, “Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering” guides players to break the seal blocking the entrance to The Chasm’s Underground Mines. In order to break this seal, players must undo the bindings on the five Bedrock Keys placed over the upper half of the Chasm. The first Bedrock Key is beside the adventurer Zhiqiong – who aids the Traveler in exploration – while three of the remaining four are marked on the map via the Bedrock Key Location Diagram.

Players must use the cage-shaped object to destroy the remaining Bedrock Keys. First, players will need to harvest a nearby Geogranum and place it into the cage-shaped object. Then, players must attack the cage-shaped object in a direction that launches the projectile toward the Bedrock Key. There are multiple cage-shaped objects surrounding each Bedrock Key that must be activated as part of the “Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering” quest. The locations of these three Bedrock Keys can be found in the image below.

Similar to other puzzles in Genshin Impact, there is a certain order in which the cage-shaped objects need to be activated. As they can only project in the direction they are hit, the Bedrock Keys will need to be struck starting with cage-shaped objects placed at the highest elevation to the lowest. The last Bedrock Key can be found near the Chasm’s Statue of the Seven. Once players have successfully destroyed all five Bedrock Keys, the seal will break. This will allow players to have full access to both surface and underground areas of Genshin Impact’s Chasm region.
