Genshin Impact: How to Find (& Beat) Frostarm Lawachurl

Genshin Impact is known for the large variety of fun, unique enemies available throughout the game. Fighting these enemies is a crucial part of solving world puzzles, beating domains, and farming items to level up characters. Hilichurls and Mitachurls are the most standard enemies in the game, and their variations are found throughout the world.

Frostarm Lawachurls are a type of Mitachurl that has grown to gargantuan size through Cryo energy. Frostarm Lawachurls, like most Cryo enemies, are found in the Dragonspine region of Mondstadt. They’re easy to identify, as they have a large build that stands out amongst the smaller Cryo enemies of the area. In addition, since they’re Elite Enemies, fighting them will proc a health bar at the top of the screen labeled ‘Frostarm Lawachurl’. There are three respawnable Frostarm Lawachurls in Dragonspine, and these can be found by using the enemy navigation function from the Adventurer’s Handbook.

How to Kill Frostarm Lawachurls in Genshin Impact

Frostarm Lawachurl attacks are mainly focused on dealing melee damage that infuses the player with Cryo. If the player is farther away, the Lawachurl will charge at full speed towards the player, dealing large damage upon impact. This charge leaves behind ice crystals that deal Cryo damage to the player if they run into them. Its jump attack also creates an ice floor where the creature lands, dealing Cryo damage over time on top of the damage done by the initial impact. The Frostarm Lawachurl can also throw large Cryo slimes at the player to deal additional damage.

Like other Lawachurls, the Frostarm Lawachurl has the ability to create strong Cryo-infused armor that greatly increases its damage and defense. This armor severely lessens the number of damage players can do to the creature itself, and it increases the enemy’s resistance to Physical and Elemental DMG Bonus by 80%. Like other Cryo shields, it is weak to Pyro, so a ranged Pyro character like Amber or Yoimiya can help bring down this shield easily without taking too much damage.

Frostarm Lawachurls drop items that most other Hilichurl and Hilichurl variants drop. This includes Ominous Masks, Stained masks, Damaged Masks, Black Crystal Horns, Black Bronze Horns, and Heavy Horns. These items are used to ascend the level of many characters, such as Eula, Noelle, and the Traveller.

Frostarm Lawachurls can be found in the world, and one is also available to fight in the highest level of the Peak of Vindagnyr Domain. Knowing how to beat them can help players farm them for ascension items, and prepare players for if they ever encounter them during their explorations in Dragonspine.
