Genshin Impact: How to Find the Secret Pirate Treasure

Variety is an important factor in action RPG’s no matter how obscure. Genshin Impact delivers on that aspect with a large number of quests and world activities to do that can easily keep players coming back time and time again. This guide will provide players instructions on a Pirate Treasure Hunting quest, and how to navigate its hints before arriving upon the treasure.

Kaeya, Captain from The Knights of Favonius and playable character sends players on a quest to find an amazing treasure left behind by his great-grandfather. This man rumored to be a “pirate”, Kaeya boasts about his eye patch being an heirloom passed down to him by this distant familial predecessor and how this treasure is rightfully his. In order to prevent thieving treasure hunters from getting their hands on it, Kaeya asks players to embark upon a treasure hunt of their own.

How to find the Pirate Treasure in Genshin Impact

This quest offers players the option to check in with Kaeye just in case they would rather a clue from him instead of figuring it out themselves. Paimon supports the “Traveler” and her progress on their own without checking in with Kaeya but, ultimately the decision is up to the player. Players must discover a total of 3 maps before gaining the ability to access the treasure’s location. The first map is given to players from an outside helper in Kaeya’s affairs, while the second map is the reward from deciphering the first map and finding the chest. The reward from the second map is the third and final map that automatically highlights the target area within the player’s world map.

The First Map

After meeting with Kaeya’s outside contact, the map will have a riddle written above a blurred image that players will discern to be a picture of the Mondstadt capital. The riddle reads ” Three six-armed giants reside in the city in the lake. Tw0 guard the statue, One, the Treasure.” As far as “six arms” go, the riddle is referring to the large windmills within the city. The windmill directly in question would be the one facing the Adventures guild; not to be confused with the Knights of Favonius headquarters. The Adventures guild is located in the bottom left of the city with what looks like a Turquoise colored rooftop. On the player map, it’s a large rectangle parallel with the city’s outer wall. Players can climb to this roof and glide toward the windmill, or any roof nearby for that matter. After landing on the second platform, circle around the windmill, and there will be a ladder. Climbing ladders do not consume stamina as much as climbing walls do so don’t worry about ascending it quickly to save time. Wrap around the windmill slightly again and a chest containing the next clue will be waiting there.

The Second Map

This one is a little trickier, especially for players who may not have unlocked this area of the map yet. The second chest with the final clue is resting on a cliff behind a lake. This lake happens to flank a village in Springvale located downward left off the trail leaving Mondstadt capital. Above, the clue reads “She doesn’t love him at all. The passion rushing through the clear spring is just a front. When she’s cold and alone, Her true heart is revealed.” As far as a hint, it’s a little more ambiguous than the prior clue. The riddle serves more as a distraction since the map gives a pretty discerning idea of where to look. Once players have made it to the lake, climb to the second-highest peak beside the waterfall and there will be 3 cryo elemental statues. The waterfall is divided into two parts; the first empties into the lake, and the second empties into a deposit of water serving as a break in the waterfall. The statues are to the right of this small deposit if players are facing the lake and the village. Make sure Kaeye or some other Cryo attuned character is in the party, fight the slimes that spawn, and light those statues up. A chest with the final clue will appear and mark the location of a dungeon on the player’s official map.

After opening the second chest, players can choose to update Kaeya or just continue on their own and go for the treasure. The treasure is located in a dungeon on the southern beach at the Falcon coast. Just drop down off the cliff and glide as far underneath it as possible; basically toward the open water. After a little conversation with Paimon, enter and clear the dungeon. Prepare to fight a Ruin Guard, as they are Geo elemental constructs with powerful melee attacks and homing missiles. Once the Ruin Guard is defeated, enjoy another cut scene before acquiring the treasure!
