Genshin Impact Lantern Rite: Which 4-Star Characters Should Be Free

According to leaks, Genshin Impact Lantern Rite is set to return in the 2.4 update, along with the Stand By Me event in which players may obtain one 4-star character for free. The new 4-star character lineup may vary from the 1.3 version of Genshin Impact due to the addition of several Liyue characters since the 1.3 update. In the meantime, players might be wondering which 4-star character from the existing and future roster of Liyue characters should be a part of the Stand By Me event.

The Lantern Rite has been a remarkable event for players in Genshin Impact 1.3 update, so it is exciting to hear that it will be returning in version 2.4 of Genshin Impact, at least according to dataminers. The 2.4 Stand By Me version will allegedly include Yun Jin and Yanfei, taking two out of six slots in the free character lineup. Yun Jin was recently introduced as a playable character, but miHoYo made no statement of her release date. However, dataminers have revealed that Yun Jin of Genshin Impact is a 4-star character and will be available in 2.4 together with Shenhe. The anticipation for the next version has increased thanks to the revelation that Yun Jin will be available for free upon her debut.

Although Yun Jin would be great to be included in the Stand By Me lineup, no further information regarding her attributes is known at the moment, which makes other players reluctant to choose her among the six free characters. Maxing her out to Constellation level 6 will boost her Elemental Mastery by 200 when her HP is more than 50%.

Meanwhile, Yanfei is a balanced character that can be built as a DPS or support character. She can also be an alternative to Klee in Genshin Impact as they are both Pyro Catalysts. Although Yanfei is expected to deal lesser damage than Klee, she can provide Pryo resonance when paired with other Pyro characters, which is always a great approach for an additional 25% ATK. Acquiring copies of Yanfei up to Constellation Level 6 increases her maximum Scarlet Seal by one, which is significant for inflicting Pyro damage.

Yanfei and Diona both make excellent additions to Genshin Impact‘s team compositions. However, with rumors claiming that a Ganyu character rerun Banner will arrive in 2.4, it may be preferable to pick Diona over Yanfei if both characters will be available for free, as Diona will be useful in maximizing Ganyu’s skills.
