A dedicated fan has created a seafaring crossover by building The Crux, a pirate ship from Genshin Impact, in the survival sandbox world of MinecraftGenshin Impact is an action role-playing game which was created and is frequently supported by developer miHoYo. Minecraft, meanwhile, is an iconic sandbox title which was developed by Mojang and released in 2009.

The creative nature of Minecraft means that players are able to bring their imaginations to life using the game’s wide range of tools. Creative players often formulate crossovers by recreating characters, locations or items from a different piece of media within the world of Minecraft. Modder and Reddit user vemerion recently crossed Minecraft with the multiplayer battle arena League of Legends by recreating one of the game’s characters, Dr. Mundo, within Mojang’s title. The mod, part of an ongoing effort to bring LoL characters to Minecraft, gives users the full breadth of Mundo’s abilities, such as hurling deadly cleavers and setting himself on fire. Another fan-made Minecraft crossover was recently released, combining the blocky survival game with the manga and anime franchise Demon Slayer. The detailed mod adds themed weapons, armor and food to Minecraft so that players can immerse themselves in the world of the popular series.

Reddit user cardinaranth recently revealed an extremely accurate Minecraft recreation of The Crux, a pirate ship belonging to Genshin Impact character Beidou. The swashbuckling Electro character, included at the game’s release in September 2020, sails the high seas with a loyal pirate crew. The Minecraft version of the ship is seemingly an exact replica, perfectly mimicking the version of the ship seen by Genshin Impact players. While the build is obviously immobile, it is a great demonstration of cardinaranth’s dedication and attention to detail.

As summer arrives in full swing, now is a perfect time for players to set sail both in-game and in reality. Genshin Impact developer miHoYo is set to celebrate the summer season with Version 1.6, an upcoming update for the game which will be decidedly beach-themed. The update will include swimwear for certain characters, as well as a new beach location and a boat travel mechanic for players to experience. Bringing along the sea-faring Beidou may complete the nautical theme, just like cardinaranth’s Minecraft build.

Despite the age gap between Minecraft and Genshin Impact, both titles have been able to maintain a strong following since their respective releases. Minecraft‘s wide-open sandbox environment gives players the freedom to explore and create to their heart’s content. Genshin Impact‘s continued support also means that players have something new to discover or experience whenever they log into the game. By crossing over the two titles, cardinaranth is able to demonstrate the best of both worlds.

Minecraft is available on all platforms. Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PS5, iOS, Android and PC.
