Sayu is a new playable 4-star character in Genshin Impact‘s Version 2.0 update. She is a featured promotional character along with Yoimiya in the Tapestry of Golden Flames Banner, set to end on September 1, 2021. For fans who pulled the sleepy ninja, here are the best Artifacts and weapons to use in order for Sayu to reach her maximum potential.

Sayu is an Anemo character who uses a claymore in battle. She focuses on triggering Swirl reactions as well as healing party members, which makes her a strong support ally. There are many strong Anemo characters like Sucrose and Kazuha, but Sayu may be a great option for players looking for a character that can consistently support allies and deal damage in Genshin Impact.

Sayu can trigger Swirl damage to enemies with her Elemental Skill and Burst when combined with other elements, allowing her to fit into most teams. As a supporting character focused on Elemental reactions, players will want to increase Sayu’s Elemental Mastery for higher damage. Players should also focus on Sayu’s ATK because her healing scales with her overall ATK stats. This means players will need to find the right Artifacts and weapons that will boost those stats in order to fully take advantage of her Talents in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact: Sayu’s Best Weapons & Artifacts Explained

The best Artifacts for Sayu are from the Viridescent Venerer set. With two pieces equipped, Sayu receives a 15% Anemo DMG bonus. Equipping four pieces of the Viridescent Venerer will increase Swirl DMG by 60%. The Artifacts will also decrease the enemy’s Elemental Resistance by 40% for 10 seconds based on the element that was infused with the Swirl. If players struggle with triggering constant Elemental Reactions in battle, then the four-piece Noblesse Oblige can be used as a replacement.

The best weapon in Genshin Impact for Sayu is Wolf’s Gravestone, an older claymore introduced during the game’s launch. The equipment will increase her ATK by 20%, but if Sayu hits an enemy with less than 30% HP, the claymore will also boost all allies ATK by 40%. Not only does the weapon allow Sayu to deal more damage, but it also offers offensive support to the player’s main DPS character. Unfortunately, the claymore may be difficult for gamers to obtain since it’s an older 5-star weapon with no rate-ups. Alternative claymores players can use are the Sacrificial Greatsword or the Katsuragikiri Nagamasa, which increases Sayu’s Energy Recharge for quicker access to her Elemental Burst.

Despite having a sizable selection of Anemo characters, Sayu is the second 4-star Anemo character introduced in the game. As Genshin Impact receives future updates, miHoYo will no doubt introduce more characters. Until then, Sayu is an excellent support character and can be a great addition to players’ teams.
