The arrival of Genshin Impact Version 1.4 is almost here, and a new Special Program livestream from miHoYo revealed what fans should expect in the new update. The upcoming content includes more story quests, a new Banner character, and exciting new Hangout Events – as well as special arena challenges and new weapons. For fans excited for Version 1.4 of Genshin Impact, here’s everything confirmed for the new update.

After a lot of speculation and rumors, Rosaria has been confirmed as a new playable character, and will have her own Banner. Venti and Tartaglia will also get re-runs, meaning players have a higher chance of pulling them through Genshin Impact‘s Wish system during Version 1.4. The update, which is titled “Invitation of Windblume,” will feature a Mondstadt celebration similar to the Liyue Lantern Rite Festival in Version 1.3, which means decorations and other seasonal items will be found in Genshin Impact during this time.

As usual, fans can expect to find new weapons up for grabs as well, and the story content will include a new boss fight and the appearance of Dainsleif, one of the characters expected in Genshin Impact for a long time. New events and challenges will also be coming with the Version 1.4 update, including a special Hangouts Event and battle arena.

Genshin Impact 1.4’s New Events Explained

One of the most exciting new additions in Genshin Impact 1.4 is the Contending Tides event. Dadaupa Gorge’s Meaty Arena is for any fighters wanting to contend for the title of “Strongest in Teyvat.” Players can test their mettle in this new arena in exchange for rewards like Primogems and EXP Books.

The Wishful Drops event includes fighting water-based monsters for rewards, and a new Marvelous Merchandise event is also being added. Perhaps most exciting of all is the new Hangouts Event: Series 1, which lets players spend more time with the Genshin Impact characters they love. These are fun excursions that focus on individual characters, allowing players to spend time with them around Teyvat’s cities and surrounding wilderness. In addition to getting to hang out with characters like Noelle, Barbara, and Chongyun, players can also earn a number of rewards for participating in the first series of the Hangouts Event.

The Special Program for Genshin Impact 1.4 revealed a lot of exciting new content coming to the game. While a lot of focus may be on the new and returning Banner characters, the Hangouts Event and Contending Tides arena look pretty cool. Genshin Impact‘s 1.4 update is set to release on March 17th, 2021.
