Version 1.4 of Genshin Impactwill be arriving next week, and fans are eagerly awaiting the new story quests, events, and Banners being added to the game throughout the new update. There’s a lot for players to be excited about, including long-awaited character Dainsleif taking on a larger role in the story. So, does this mean Dainsleif will be playable in Genshin Impact Version 1.4?

Dainsleif was officially announced by developer miHoYo as a playable character back in September 2020, but so far, he hasn’t joined Genshin Impact‘s growing roster of fighters. Since then, Dainsleif has been rumored for Genshin Impact countless times, but there’s still no official release date for him. In the new Version 1.4 content, players will join Dainsleif, the “Bough Keeper,” and investigate the Abyss Order – one of the main antagonist factions in Genshin Impact.

Despite being featured in new story content, Dainsleif wasn’t confirmed as a playable character in Genshin Impact Version 1.4. Venti and Tartaglia will get Banner reruns, and after a lot of rumors, Rosaria was confirmed as a new playable character. However, even though Dainsleif’s Banner announcement was missing from miHoYo’s 1.4 livestream, there’s always the chance he’ll appear later in the 1.4 update.

Dainsleif Could Be Playable In Genshin Impact’s 1.4 Update

Typically, miHoYo’s Special Program livestreams share all the new playable characters coming to Genshin Impact in the latest update. However, this isn’t always the case. Hu Tao was rumored for Version 1.3 but was completely missing from the livestream, leading many fans to think she was being saved for a later update. Then, perhaps surprisingly, Hu Tao arrived in the final weeks of Genshin Impact Version 1.3 to finish up the content leading into Version 1.4.

So, there’s always the chance that Dainsleif will be added as a Banner character during the final weeks of the Version 1.4 update, even though he hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. This would be similar to the way Hu Tao was added to Genshin Impact later on in Version 1.3. It would certainly be a great way to keep players invested in the 1.4 content, especially in its final weeks when many fans are looking ahead to the next update already.

Officially, Dainsleif has not been confirmed by miHoYo as a playable character in Genshin Impact Version 1.4. However, given the way the company released Hu Tao as a surprise, it’s certainly reasonable to assume something similar could happen with Dainsleif in the 1.4 update. It would be a great way to keep players invested in the game, and it’d definitely excite all the Genshin Impact fans who’ve been waiting since September for Dainsleif to become playable.
