Genshin Impact: Xingqiu Best Builds (& How to Unlock)

Xingqiu is widely considered one of the best and most powerful characters in Genshin Impactbecause of his ability to deal Hydro damage to enemies. He can serve as a support for the party and become incredibly powerful once he reaches Constellation level 2. In Genshin Impact, players explore the open world of Teyvat as a twin called The Traveler. Throughout the game, they search for their lost sibling, meet companions to travel with, and complete challenges and quests to increase their Adventure Rank. All characters have some manner of elemental ability based on seven natural elements: Cryo, Dendro, Pyro, Hydro, Anemo, Electro, and Geo. Players can unlock new characters through a gacha Wishes system, which is how they can eventually get Xingqiu.

Xingqiu is one of the most powerful characters available in Genshin Impact. He is the second son of the Guild Manager of the Feiyun Commerce Guild in Liyue. He typically wields a longsword, and, despite his quiet and studious outward appearance, he has a more adventurous and mischievous side. The best build for Xingqiu is the Hydro Support Build, and it can make him an incredibly powerful and useful character as the World Level increases. The Hydro Support Build for Xingqiu in Genshin Impact

Players can unlock Xingqiu by chance through the Wishes system. Players will need to make a Standard Wish, Wanderlust Invocation. It will cost them Acquaint Fate. Players can also wait for a character event featuring Xingqiu and use Intertwined Fate to make their Event Wish for a higher chance of receiving Xingqiu.

Because he is best used as a support, players may not need to use Xingqiu as a fighter specifically. Instead, they will want to switch to his character to use his passive and support skills, then switch back to their main damage-dealer.

To best build Xingqiu, players will need to start with the Blades Amidst Raindrops passive. This talent adds a 20% Hydro DMG Bonus to Xingqiu’s character, which will be incredibly important for the Hydro Support build. This passive becomes unlocked at Ascension 4.

For the remaining talents, players have some choice what to level, but it would be most beneficial to level up Guhua Sword: Raincutter most often. While Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen is also good and required to maximize damage reduction, the alternate is slightly more useful for dealing damage and adding sword rain attacks to an active character’s Normal Attack.

The best sword for Xingqiu is Sacrificial Sword. It has a Base Attack of 293. This is a difficult weapon to obtain, however, so players will need to do some farming first and take advantage of special Wishes events. They can also use the Favonius Sword instead. Both weapons have an energy recharge ability, and the Sacrificial Sword can even end its own CD after an enemy takes damage from Xingqiu’s Elemental Skills.

Players can also include the Noblesse Oblige Artifact set. With the two-piece set, Xingqiu receives an extra 20% to Elemental Burst DMG. Players can add another two of these. The effect for the four-piece Noblesse Oblige Artifact set is that using an Elemental Burst will increase all party members’ attack by 20% for 12 seconds. Otherwise, players can pair the two-piece Noblesse Oblige Artifacts with the Heart of Depth to add a 15% Hydro DMG Bonus. Both will help boost Xingqiu’s Hydro abilities. Ideally, no matter what Artifacts the player chooses, they want to hit at least 180% for their energy recharge rate.

The more Constellation levels players unlock, the more powerful Xingqiu will become. With the Hydro Support build, Xingqiu is able to increase the amount of damage the party can deal, heal those in the party, and reduce the amount of damage the other characters in the party take.
