Genshin Impact’s Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Event & Rewards

The earlier phase of Genshin Impact‘s Version 2.3 features a new event, Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, which begins on November 24. Throughout this event, players can earn rewards such as Primogems, a new weapon, and more. Players will be invited to train in the cold region of Dragonspine through a variety of exciting gameplay. In Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, the main event of the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.3 update, characters such as Albedo, Eula, Bennett, and Amber will make an appearance as the story returns to the nation of Mondstadt. The Adventurers’ Guild will hold its winter training on Dragonspine and Traveler together with some members of the Knights of Favonius, will take part in it. The winter training will allow players to participate in three training sessions, including agility, tracker, and combat training. Furthermore, a mysterious boss will be revealed as players go through the event story.

Apart from the event and rewards offered in Genshin Impact 2.3, the latest event story set in Dragonspine contributes to the fascinating lore of Genshin Impact. The Shadows Amidst Snowstorms trailer has hinted a few details about the scenes that will appear in the event story. Albedo narrates in the trailer about the curiosities of humanity and the underlying mysteries found in the cold region of Dragonspine. Considering the trailer, Genshin Impact 2.3 story will likely revolve around Albedo’s actions as an alchemist and a character aspiring to discover the secrets of Dragonspine. The trailer has also revealed the return of the NPC named Joel, a young boy staying at the Dragonspine Adventurer camp waiting for the return of his father who went on an expedition in Dragonspine. Joel’s story is part of the previous “Lost in Snow” world quest in Genshin Impact.

The previous Genshin Impact 2.3 livestream has provided a preview of the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event. The livestream features the new character rerun banner, abyss boss, and a walkthrough of the winter training event. One of the most anticipated parts of the event is that players will be able to build a snowman and customize it with components collected from the training. Players must be at least Adventure Rank 20 and have completed prerequisite story quests to participate in the event.

Genshin Impact: Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Winter Training

In agility training, players must race through a course and complete it within a certain time limit while collecting Insignias of Conquest and Insignias of Adventure. Some Insignias of Adventure will be hidden in the area while Insignias of Conquest appears only at a specific time. The area in the agility training is surrounded by ice obstacles and buffs known as Blessings which could help players of Genshin Impact in navigating the course. A Galespring Blessing provides a jump boost which is useful in reaching Insignias in high places, while an Ironskin Blessing aids in destroying nearby ice obstacles and obtaining Insignias contained inside it. Players’ earned event points depend on the number of Insignias collected and the time it took to complete the course.

After completing the agility training, players will proceed on the tracker training. In this winter training session, Genshin Impact Pyro characters must be included in the party as the goal of the tracker training is to melt ice crystal piles. Players must look for Ice Crystal Piles within the area and attack it with Pyro damage to melt. At times, there can be enemies surrounding Ice Crystal Piles that players must look out for or get rid of to complete the training session successfully. Some Ice Crystal Piles may also contain snowman components that Genshin Impact players can use to cosplay up their snowman.

The final phase of the Genshin Impact 2.3 winter training is combat training. To provide an intensive gaming experience, each training camp is installed with a Lure. The Lure will begin at a “Source Cold” state and emit cold air increasing the character’s Sheer Cold bar. It can also give buffs at fixed intervals to nearby enemies. Surrounding the Lure are mechanisms which when activated change the Lure into a “Heat Source” state. This state can be triggered by attacking the mechanism in the training area while carrying Scarlet Quartz. This not only decreases the accumulated Sheer Cold but also restores the character’s Energy at fixed intervals and deal additional AoE Pyro damage to opponents when players carry a Scarlet Quartz while in combat.

To reference the theme of the season, players may build a snowman on Genshin Impact‘s Dragonspine region after collecting snowman components. The anatomy of the snowman consists of the head, hands, scarf, eyes, and nose. Available component design for each part may vary depending on what players have gathered. Snowman components may be collected from the winter training and purchased from the event shop. It is also possible for players to exchange their snowman components with friends. After the Genshin Impact Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event has ended, players may bring their snowman bases and components to their Serenitea Pot for decorations.

Genshin Impact: Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Event Shop And Rewards

Genshin Impact‘s Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event grants players a variety of rewards. Each winter training session provides rewards such as Primogems, Ascension materials, and Mora. Similar to prior events, there will be an available event shop where players redeem their earned event currencies for other essential items. Participants can also receive the new Cinnabar Spindle, a 4-star sword weapon, ideal for chief alchemist Albedo in Genshin Impact, and other sword-wielding characters. The new blade can be acquired from building a snowman as part of the winter training. If players wish to fully refine the Cinnabar Spindle sword, they may purchase its Alkahest refining material from the event shop. Additionally, the Shadow Amidst Snowstorms event shop offers items such as Mora, Crown of Insight, Talent level-up material, Character EXP material, and Mystic Enhancement Ore.

Overall, the time-limited Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event is just one of the anticipated events in the 2.3 update as there are still more to be released in the later phase. Following the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event is the Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog which will take place in Inazuma. Meanwhile, the newly improved Energy Amplifier Fruition event comes after the Inazuma event. For the time being, players should be preparing their Genshin Impact Pyro characters to be included in the party and cook Delicious Goulash to survive the cold region of Dragonspine until Genshin Impact Version 2.3 is released.
