The Genshin Impact character teaser trailer for the fireworks-loving Yoimiya has been released by developer miHoYo, as well as her character bio. The studio recently launched its highly anticipated 2.0 update for Genshin Impact in July, which introduced the land of Inazuma, the third major region the game has released so far alongside Mondstadt and Liyue. And just like the other regions, Inazuma has notable locations, stories, characters, and more.

Before the release of the Genshin Impact 2.0 update, miHoYo showed off some of the characters that players will meet and interact with in Inazuma, some of which have already been announced to be playable. These include Kamisato Ayaka, whose banner is already available, as well as Yoimiya and Sayu. While miHoYo has yet to announce whether some of the other characters from Inazuma will eventually become playable or not, some of them are at least expected to be available in the future, such as Electro Archon Baal, her retainer Kujou Sara, and resistance leader Sangonomiya Kokomi.

As for Yoimiya, miHoYo has just released the teaser trailer and profile for the new 5-star character, who is expected to release next week on August 10, 2021, alongside 4-star character Sayu. The character teaser trailer shows Yoimiya and the residents of Narukami Island, one of the sub-regions of Inazuma, being asked what the best thing about summer is on the island. Yoimiya initially ends up delegating the answer to the other residents of the island, who then reveal that the best part about summer in Nakurami is Yoimiya herself and the firework displays she produces during the season, which landed her the nickname the “Queen of the Summer Festival.” The trailer ends with Yoimiya lighting up the sky with one of her fireworks displays.

Also revealed by miHoYo in her official character bio, Yoimiya is known as the best Pyro user in Inazuma, which expectedly translates into her gameplay. A Pyro element burst damage dealer armed with a bow, Yoimiya’s charged attack allows her to release three Kindling Arrows that home in on opponents and deal Pyro damage. Her main ability, Niwabi Fire-Dance, turns all her normal attacks into Blazing arrows that deal more damage while also dealing Pyro damage for a short period of time. Lastly, her ultimate ability, Ryuukin Saxifrage, sees Yoimiya fire an array of rockets that deal Pyro damage, mark opponents, and cause Pyro damage when the marked enemies are hit with other attacks.

Yoimiya is one of the few bow-wielding characters in the game and the second one that is able to deal Pyro damage after Amber. While the latter is seen as somewhat of a lackluster character by portions of the playerbase, Yoimiya is looking to be a more reliable and capable Pyro bow user because of her array of skills that allow her to deal continuous Pyro damage to enemies. Her ultimate sounds particularly useful, as it would allow players to potentially deal continuous Pyro damage and elemental interactions during its duration.
