Earlier this week, a Ghost Of Tsushima art book was released, including loads of interesting information on the upcoming DLC, Legends. There are descriptions and pictures of new enemies and bosses as well as some clues and lore about the world players will be entering.

Legends will be a multiplayer co-op mode with a fantasy setting that owners of the base game will get for free when it is released. There is no specific date set down for this yet, but developers Sucker Punch Productions say that the DLC will be out before the end of the year.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Ghost Of Tsushima art book appeared on Resetera when user Joule posted a video showing some of the pages off.  New enemies in Legends are inspired by Japanese mythology and folklore, and look fittingly horrifying. There are different classes of Oni demons in the supplement, as well other never-before-seen foes. Bosses are Dark Souls-level hideous, some look to have multiple phases, each more grotesque than the last. The book effectively highlights Legends‘ Japanese mythology setting that seems to combine nightmarish elements from From Software’s Sekiro with traditional Japanese landscape painting. The book even gives fans some pictures of menu screens from the multiplayer mode.

This Storyteller may be whom players get their quests from, as the book explains that The Storyteller is well traveled and writes his tales of exploration down in scrolls, which might be given to players. In terms of the setting, the book explains that “the environments in Legends stand in stark contrast to those of the main game.” While the main game tries to look like authentic feudal Japan, the DLC’s landscapes have a “more dream-like quality“. The atmosphere is more mystical and with an entirely different color palette, it is supposed to feel like ancient Japanese woodblock prints that players have stepped into. To show off the multiplayer aspect of the game, a lobby of four customized characters is shown, with players’ levels hovering above their chosen character, and it looks like they are about to play a mission from The Storyteller together.

Even though this art book is still only concept art for Legends, it looks like the world is pretty fleshed out with some interesting enemies and locations. It seems like it’s going to be worth jumping back into Ghost Of Tsushima with some friends to experience this magical world that Sucker Punch Productions has fit inside one DLC, making this a great game to replay.
