The Ghost of Tsushima is full of collectible items and locations to visit. The main character, Jin Sakai, can travel to a Shinto Shrine marker on the map to go to a sacred location. Shrines will provide Jin with a charm once they have been reached by braving difficult terrain to get to the top of a mountain. Jin will then honor the shrine and collect the reward.

There are 16 Shinto Shrines in Ghost of Tsushima, and finding all of the shrines will reward the player with the Favor of Kami Trophy. Shinto Shrines can only be accessed once a specific part of the story has been reached, similar to bamboo strikes. Resources like wood to craft or flowers that can be used to dye armor can be found on the way to shrines.  There are five Shinto Shrines in Act 1. There are more shrines located in this area, but they require a grappling hook to access.
