The final chapter of The Tale of Iyo is the final one in Ghost of Tsushima, bringing a confrontation with Iyo herself. This chapter brings many of the previous two elements while adding a few extra ones to make the last part a memorable one. Having one expert dueler and getting a lot of damage to the table will make this chapter a breeze.

A few items of note with the Tale of Iyo: Chapter 3 is that it’s the shortest of the chapters, with it being a huge boss fight against Iyo. This chapter is also known as the easiest of the three because, for example, it doesn’t have the same communication level as Chapter 2. There is still communication to be had, but it’s a lot more precise and not as life-threatening as the previous chapters. Bringing a lot of damage to this chapter will be necessary depending on which roles each player has. Having a couple of Ronin characters is recommended but not required.

How To Beat The Tale Of Iyo: Chapter 3 In Ghost Of Tsushima

When entering the area, players will see Iyo in one of her forms at the back of the room. On the right and left of her, there are Torii gates on platforms. The Torii gates give Iyo access and face her in a one-on-one duel that we’ll soon get. There are floor buttons on the platforms at the start of the area that, when pushed, reveal hidden platforms to get to the gates to reach the Torii gates. Torii gates can only get activated one at a time. During the entire battle, players will recognize the mini-tower in the screen’s top right corner. This tower gets filled when enemies go to the two pools on the screen’s right and left sections. The longer they stay in the pools, the quicker the tower fills up. When it fills up to the top, the team fails the chapter.

While fighting the enemies, Iyo will have orbs light up close to her face that needs to be shot twice with distance weapons. The reason for attacking them is she will spew blood that charges the tower, and hitting the orbs stops that process. If there is more than one orb that shows up on her face, the player facing Iyo during the one-on-one duel needs to communicate with the team which orb must get shot or face the incoming blood. During the fight, that player dueling her will see the orb on her face. One last spot for orbs is over the Torii gates themselves while a player is in the duel, which will kick them out of the duel. Being able to kick players out of the duel has two effects.

The first is that players fighting Iyo will gain corruption, and kicking them out before level ten occurs will prevent the team from wiping. The second is it resets the tower on the upper right as well. After doing enough damage to Iyo in this form, there will be a cutscene, and Iyo will appear in her regular form. At this point, she can get attacked by everyone without corruption. Destroy her, and the raid will finish successfully.

Tips And Tricks For Defeating The Tale Of Iyo: Chapter 3 In Ghost Of Tsushima

When it comes to mastering the last part of the raid, some shortcuts will help make life a bit easier to the point where only two people could complete it. Two Ronin are needed because if one player goes down, the other can get revived, but of course, life will be more comfortable with four players. Fighting enemies at a distance and having quick kill methods is highly recommended, such as using Bomb Packs and Smoke Bombs. What will serve players well is damage Iyo while dueling her and keeping the tower under control. Kicking the player out of the Torii gate will be crucial to getting this method to work since it resets the tower.

The player dueling needs to be adept at blocking, dodging, and doing Perfect Parries. Having a Stone Sword during the duel will be very useful as it’s geared to break sword-wielding enemies and has a devastating piercing attack that can stop Iyo before she can unleash her most formidable strikes. Iyo also has multiple phases, adding to her move arsenal. Be ready to dodge rather than block, as she will unleash many unblockable attacks during the fight.

Ghost of Tsushima is available on Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.
