Glenn Close will be returning to her role from Guardians of the Galaxy at a new Disney World attraction. Close is one of Hollywood’s most decorated stars, having won multiple Golden Globes, Emmys, Tonys, and SAGs on top of an Academy Award. The actor played Nova Prime, the leader of Xandar’s Nova Corps, in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy served as the origin story to some of the MCU’s most popular characters. In the film, the superhero team joined forces with Xandar’s Nova Corps, an intergalactic military presence, to defend Xandar and defeat the evil Ronan the Accuser. The film and its 2017 follow-up are beloved by Marvel fans, who have embraced Gunn’s ability to combine sincere emotion with laugh-out-loud comedy. The series is also known for its use of hit pop songs from the 1980’s, and the soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has already been decided.

Now, in a video from Disney Parks Close has confirmed that she will be reprising her role as the head of the Nova Corps in a new ride at Disney World. The new attraction, which is called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, will be coming to EPCOT in the summer of 2022. In the video Close states that she is “so excited” to be reprising her role from the first film, and invites fans to try out the ride and help to “save the galaxy,”. Check out the video below:

Fans of Disney World and the Guardians of the Galaxy films will be excited to hear that a new ride will be hitting the park next year and that Close will be involved in the experience. However, the actor isn’t alone in returning to the series. The third instalment, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, is set to begin shooting some time soon and Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that he will return as Ravager chief Stakar Ogord. New cast members for the film include British actor Will Poulter, who will be playing Adam Warlock. As of yet, very little is known about the film’s script so it’s still unclear whether Poulter’s Adam Warlock will be working with or against the titular heroes.

As well as starring in their own series, the Guardians of the Galaxy’s members have appeared in the Avengers films and will be part of the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. While Avengers: Endgame restored many of the MCU’s characters from being snapped, the Guardians of the Galaxy’s team was still changed by the events of the films. Fans will therefore be eager to see how the new and returning characters will impact the dynamic of the team, going into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and beyond.
