God Of War: Faces of Magic Artifact Locations (River Pass)

There are many collectible items for Kratos to find in God of War, including the nine Faces of Magic artifacts located in the River Pass. The River Pass is one of the areas players have access to early in God of War, though not every artifact can be found upon their first venture through the terrain. To collect all Faces of Magic artifacts, players will need to revisit the River Pass during the “A NewDestination“ chapter of God of War.

The first seven Faces of Magic artifacts can be found during the “A Path to the Mountain” chapter in God of War. Each of the Faces of Magic artifacts can be safely sold to either Sindri or Brok in exchange for more Hacksilver in God of War. Additionally, every time Kratos finds one of the Faces of Magic artifacts in God of War, he is rewarded with a small amount of XP, with a bonus amount given once the entire set has been found.

Though each individual artifact in the Faces of Magic set doesn’t have a high selling point or reward too much XP, collecting the set is an easy way for players to get effortless upgrades in God of War. Hacksilver is used for all armor and weapon upgrades for Kratos and Atreus, and it can also be used for a few additional items that help players throughout God of War like runes or enchantments. Likewise, players can upgrade the best skills in God of War sooner for both Kratos and Atreus if players have more XP, making each fight that much easier.

God Of War: All Faces Of Magic Artifact Locations In River Pass

These are the locations of each of the Faces of Magic artifacts in the River Pass area of God of War:

• Faces of Magic artifact 1: After meeting Brok for the first time, Kratos can cross the ledge and climb down the chain. He will find the first Faces of Magic artifact by following the ledge.
• Faces of Magic artifact 2: Taking a right from Brok’s shop and following the path will lead to an opening Kratos can drop down to find the second artifact on the ledge. Both the first and second Faces of Magic artifacts can be sold to Brok in God of War in case players needed more Hacksilver for upgrades.
• Faces of Magic artifact 3: Kratos can find the third artifact on the other side of the spiked-ceiling area on the main path.
• Faces of Magic artifact 4: From the third artifact, players should follow the edge of the cliff to the fourth Faces of Magic artifact.
• Faces of Magic artifact 5: Following the sand rune, Kratos should continue through the tunnels inside and take the first left to climb up the ledge to find the fifth artifact.
• Faces of Magic artifact 6: After defeating the troll, Kratos should continue through the burned village to find the sixth Faces of Magic artifact in the fourth house on the right side of the path.
• Faces of Magic artifact 7: Once Atreus and Kratos meet Freya in God of War and leave her home, players should continue to the bottom of the Witch’s Cave and move a large pallet of rocks into the water. The seventh Faces of Magic artifact can be reached by jumping across the pallet.
• Faces of Magic artifact 8: After returning to the Witch’s Cave, players should climb up the well to go to Freya’s front yard. The eighth artifact is near a corpse on the right.
• Faces of Magic artifact 9: From Freya’s front yard, Kratos can turn left and climb the chain. The final Faces of Magic artifact in God of War is in the grass on the left side of the path.

God of War is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and will be available for PC on January 14, 2022.
