A new mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim brings God of War protagonist Kratos to the open-world RPG as a Follower NPC. The mod in question went live last week on Nexus Mods, just in time for God of War’s release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Sony unleashed the PC port on January 14, introducing Kratos to a new audience of players for the first time in series history. Given the positive reviews and reception, it seems safe to say that PC players are enjoying their time with the Spartan.

Skyrim received a new release of its own a couple of months ago, with Bethesda Softworks celebrating the game’s 10th anniversary by unleashing Skyrim Anniversary Edition across PC, last-gen, and new-gen consoles. The latest rerelease features the classic experience, of course, but also introduces several fresh features, including a fishing mechanic, extra Creation Club mods, and Survival Mode. Thanks to a newly launched fan-made mod, PC players now have yet another reason to explore the province of Skyrim.

Courtesy of a mod created by The Punkn Patch Team, Skyrim PC users can now team up with God of War’s Kratos, who journeyed to Tamriel in search of new adventures. The mod’s description on Nexus Mods notes that players will find the God of War at the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun. Kratos can be recruited as a Follower NPC, his level starting at 10 and increasing alongside players to level 1,000. Kratos additionally comes equipped with his Leviathan Axe, Armor of Exile, Guardian Shield, and the Lightfoot perk. Check out screenshots of Skyrim’s God of War Follower mod below:

The mod description further advises players against trying to take Kratos’ armor. Users should come across extra copies of Leviathan and the Guardian Shield, but the armor itself is off-limits. Apparently, some things are better left for the Gods.

As far as The Elder Scrolls 5’s Follower NPCs go, Kratos could very well become a fan favorite. Players typically find such allies while exploring the open world; once recruited, Followers will carry items, fight, and perform certain tasks for the Dragonborn. Undoubtedly, Kratos will have no trouble with the fighting part.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available to play across Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S; God of War (2018) is playable on PC, PS4, and PS5.
