Gods Will Fall: How to Defeat Carnoccus (Boss Guide)

Going up against all the different enemies in Gods Will Fall can prove to be a very difficult process for players. Each of the game’s enemies has a wide array of attacks at their disposal and all of them will require different strategies and techniques to bring down. Players may have to fight against super-fast foot soldiers with swords or spears, large monster-like enemies that are able to knock out half of the player’s health bar in one hit, or even beastly creatures that are full of anger and chaos.

Without a doubt though the enemies that will cause players the most trouble in Gods Will Fall are the Gods themselves that serve as the game’s boss battles. These enemies sport massive health bars, are capable of huge amounts of damage and have special abilities that can decimate a player very quickly. One of these Gods is Carnoccus the Nature God, who will force players to be fast and crafty if they want to survive. This guide shows players how to defeat Carnoccus.

Gods Will Fall – How to Weaken Carnoccus

Carnoccus is the God of Nature and a giant monstrous boar that won’t hesitate to gore the player as soon as they enter the arena. Where Carnoccus separates itself from the other Gods is that the player can actually attempt to fight this being as soon as they enter its realm. Carnoccus’ arena will be directly north of where the player spawns when they enter the level, but trying to defeat the God immediately is not a smart idea. Players will instead want to explore the immediate area to find ways to make this fight easier for themselves.

The first thing that the player will want to do is go around the arena entrance and head due north. Along the way, the player will need to take down a few different enemy types depending on the difficulty level of the realm. They will eventually come across a rocky outcropping that can be climbed. At the very top, there will be two wooden structures resembling horns that the player can destroy by attacking it. By doing this Carnoccus’ horns will be removed which will stop it from doing as much damage to the player during the fight.

Once this has been done the player will want to travel to the southeast from the arena entrance. Along the way, the player will once again need to fight several enemies in order to safely navigate the area. The player will eventually find a strange plant that they are able to attack, but it will be surrounded by several strong enemies. Once these minions have been dispatched the player will then be able to destroy the plant, which will help weaken Carnoccus more. This will remove the vines from the beast’s body which will slow it down when it tries to charge at the player.

The final way to weaken this boss is to travel to the southwest portion of the map from the arena entrance. The player will need to be very careful as there will be several holes in the floor that will need to be avoided or leaped over to get where they want to go, as well as several difficult enemy types along the way. On a small section in the furthest southwest corner, the player will find three stone pillars surrounded by strong enemies. Defeat these enemies and then destroy the pillars to weaken Carnoccus even further. By destroying these pillars the player will knock down Carnoccus’ health considerably and give themselves a sizable advantage over the boss.

The player will then need to return to the boss arena area, but they will need to be very careful now. If they destroyed all three of Carnoccus’ weakpoints then three very strong minions will spawn just outside the entrance. Either defeat them or rush past them into the arena to face off against the boss.

Gods Will Fall – How to Defeat Carnoccus

Now that the player has managed to weaken the boss considerably, they will have a much easier time of defeating it. While the player is able to defeat the boss using any of their warriors, it is highly recommended that the player use a faster warrior with either a spear or the twin mace weapons. This will allow the player to very quickly dash out of the way of Carnoccus’ attacks or parry them before they can take damage. The spear in particular will be incredibly useful because of the range that the weapon gives to the player allows them to attack Carnoccus without getting too close to the boss. The boss only has a few attacks that the player will need to worry about:

Charge – The main attack that Carnoccus will employ during this fight is a charging attack as it rushes straight at the player. This will dish out a huge amount of damage as well as knock the player to the ground. Carnoccus will do this several times in a row before switching to the next attack.

Body Slam – The only other attack Carnoccus has at his disposal is an extremely strong body slam attack that will be used on the player several times in a row before switching back into the Charge. This attack is very deadly for players of all skill levels.

As soon as the player enters the boss arena Carnoccus will immediately begin his charging attacks. The boss will begin on the opposite side of the arena and will charge right at the player to dish out damage. There are a couple of ways to deal with this attack. If the player is fast they are able to dodge out of the way of the attack entirely, but this can prove to be very difficult. The other way is to attempt to parry the attack, which is actually pretty easy. Dodging into Carnoccus will allow the player to avoid all damage from the attack and set themselves up to do a lot of harm to the boss. The player will want to parry and then dash in close to Carnoccus to attack him a couple of times. They will then need to move away before the boss charges again.

After doing this attack a few times in a row Carnoccus will then begin trying to body slam the player. This attack is incredibly difficult to avoid unless the player is quick on their feet. They will need to wait until the boss lifts itself up in the air and then quickly dash to the sides before Carnoccus is able to come down on them. Once they dodge the attack they will then be able to move in close and attack a few times before the boss gets back up. Carnoccus will use this attack several times in a row before finally switching back into his charge attack. From here the fight will repeat and the player will just need to keep dodging and parrying in order to bring Carnoccus down for good.
