The Godzilla vs Kong release time on HBO Max should be the same as other Max Originals and Warner Bros. films, releasing at or around midnight. Getting the MonsterVerse underway took longer than expected, with Kong: Skull Island coming three years after Godzilla hit theaters in 2014 and Godzilla: King of the Monsters releasing two years after that. Godzilla vs Kong was supposed to release in theaters in early 2020, but it was then delayed to November 2020 and again delayed to March 2021 because of the pandemic.

Now coming as a hybrid release between theaters and streaming, Godzilla vs Kong is releasing day-and-date on HBO Max to all users without a surcharge. While it’s not the first movie to do this – Wonder Woman 1984 beat it to the punch by coming out on Christmas Day last year – but it’s certainly one of the biggest titles to take advantage of the release strategy. And even though it’s set to debut on a Wednesday instead of a Friday, that shouldn’t stop hardcore Toho and MonsterVerse fans from catching Godzilla and Kong’s battle the second the movie releases online.

Although it hasn’t been explicitly confirmed yet, Godzilla vs Kong should release on HBO Max at 12:01am PDT, 3:01am EDT, and 8:01am GMT. This falls in line with standard release times for streaming movies and shows, including for those on HBO Max. While Wonder Woman 1984 had a special release time in the mid-morning, all the other Warner Bros.’ movies have come out at midnight Pacific, including Zack Snyder’s Justice League. But unlike that DC movie, it should be easy for viewers to watch Godzilla vs Kong at midnight.

Godzilla vs Kong is under two hours long, which means it can be completed while the sun is still down – if people watch it immediately at midnight Pacific (if they’re on the west coast of the U.S.) – or at least sometime in the morning hours. Director Adam Wingard previously said that he likes movies to be less than two hours long, because if Godzilla vs Kong was any longer, it wouldn’t be more monsters fighting, it would be people standing around talking about monsters. If, for some reason, the Godzilla vs Kong release time isn’t midnight Pacific, it should still release early in the day.

How To Watch Godzilla vs Kong In US, UK & Other Countries

Godzilla vs Kong is available only on HBO Max, which comes free for current HBO subscribers or can be purchased for $15 per month; the HBO Max free trial is no longer available. Unfortunately, HBO Max is only available in the United States, so internationally, people will need to rent the film through services such as Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, iTunes, and YouTube. And to top that off, Godzilla vs Kong will release on a day later on April 1 in some markets, including the UK.
