Fans have been given a new glimpse at the Godzilla and Power Rangers monsters coming to comics. A new trailer for the Godzilla vs. Power Rangers comic crossover has revealed a page full of monsters from both franchises. This could definitely lead to some must-see battles.

Godzilla vs. Power Rangers brings together the monster worlds of the titular kaiju and sentai team. The series is being released by IDW Publishing, but BOOM! Studios – which has been publishing various Power Rangers comics – is also excited for the crossover. Previously, fans learned that the crossover would be caused by Rita Repulsa. In a discussion, the series’ creators Cullen Bunn and Freddie Williams II also revealed that monsters from both would appear within Godzilla vs. Power Rangers. Now there are even more details about which ones.

On Twitter, BOOM! Studios shared a trailer ahead of the first issue’s release. The trailer begins by outlining the basic premise of how the Power Rangers end up in the world of “the King of the Monsters.” However, it also shows a page that includes both titular characters and the many foes they may collide with. The Power Rangers are going to have their hands full – and Godzilla might to0 – considering just how many foes are lined up for this crazy encounter.

The trailer includes three Power Rangers monsters and four Godzilla monsters. The Power Rangers foes include Goldar, Eye Guy, and Rhinoblaster. Toho’s monsters include Gigan, Kumonga, Kamacuras, and Megaguirus. The cast for this comic has the potential to be immense and the conflicts are bound to escalate to epic proportions with so many monsters involved. This is also just one peek at the five-issue series, meaning other characters could make appearances. Additionally, should this crossover prove successful, it could potentially pave the way for more. Both franchises certainly have enough monsters to go around considering their decades-spanning histories and long-term popularity.

This is certainly a varied cast of characters. Gigan the alien cyborg, Kumonga the giant spider, Kamacuras the giant praying mantis, and Megaguirus the giant queen dragonfly will put up quite a fight. The theme of these monsters largely seems to be the giant insect kaiju. The Power Rangers foes do not have very much in common in terms of their forms, though they’re all from the first season of the show. Rhinoblaster is a giant rhinoceros monster whose skillsets largely revolve around playing American football. Eye Guy can use eye blasts and see battles from all angles being that he’s all eyes. Power Rangers enemy Goldar is definitely a more fearsome foe comparatively considering he is a genuine warrior, but even so, Godzilla‘s monsters are likely to be the main attraction in this line-up. Fans can see the threats all these characters pose in Godzilla vs Power Rangers #1, on sale now.
