The world of Gossip Girl is one of wealth, luxury, excess, and decadence, all wrapped in a bright, glamorous package. Dressed in designer clothes and going on about the excessive drama of their lives, the beautiful people of the show strutted down the streets of Manhattan all the way to their breathtaking pieces of prime real estate.

The penthouses, townhouses, and hotel suites of these characters are an Upper East Side dream. With ceilings so high they could very well reach the sky, astounding views of the Manhattan skyline, and more space than could ever be used, these homes are as attractive as the show’s cast and more than one fan surely wished they too could live in such style.

7 Chuck’s Suite

Chuck Bass’ suite in the Empire Hotel may be small in comparison to every other home in the show, but it’s still spectacular. Very much a bachelor pad (there’s a pool table where the dining room should be) the suite is the perfect place for two rich twenty-somethings like Chuck and Nate.

The decor is hip and modern with a light industrial touch. Being a suite in a hotel, Chuck’s place has a 24-hour room and cleaning service. And while this might seem like the coolest out of all the living arrangements in the show, it’s definitely the least homey.

6 The Archibald Townhouse

Before his family loses everything due to his father’s frauds, Nate Archibald lives comfortably in an Upper East Side Townhouse. The property, owned by Nate’s grandfather, William, is a Neoclassical, six-story piece of prime architecture located at 4 East 74th Street.

Once the Captain is arrested, his wife goes to the Hamptons while Nate stays in the now-empty home (the police take everything inside the townhouse). As of season five, Nate’s mother, Anne, still lives on the property, and honestly, who could blame her? It’s such a prize of a house, no one would let it go without a fight.

5 The Humphrey Loft

Despite being presented as the home of the show’s least glamorous characters, the Humphrey loft is still a spectacular place where anyone would want to live. Spacious and employing very creative uses of the space available, the loft is one of the show’s most constant and important locations.

Located at 455 Water Street in Brooklyn, the loft has two rooms – one large enough to be split into two – a small balcony, and a rather wide kitchen. It also has a spectacular view of Manhattan and boho-style decoration that fits with Rufus and Alison Humphrey’s artistic sensibilities.

4 The Van Der Bilt Estate

Nate’s maternal family, the van der Bilts, are a respected, old-money clan of political figures within the Gossip Girl continuity. They have several properties and the patriarch of the family, William van der Bilt, also owns the Archibald townhouse.

The van der Bilt estate’s location is never given, although it’s presumed it’s somewhere in the Hamptons or Long Island. The estate’s interiors are not overtly shown, but it’s safe to assume they’re just as impressive as the outside. And considering the wealth that the van der Bilts possess, this home is nothing short of breathtaking.

3 The Waldorf-Bass Townhouse

Although it only appears for brief seconds during the show’s final minutes, the Waldorf-Bass townhouse certainly makes an impression. Not only is it the venue for Dan and Serena’s wedding but also the place where viewers last see these characters together.

The decoration might seem a tad one-note, with the cold palette of blue and grey in the carpet and sofas, but the pattern clash is entirely Blair. After all, Miss Waldorf never was one to shy away from a good pattern combo. From the outside, the home seems to have at least five stories, making it spacious enough to house a couple as dramatic as Chuck and Blair.

2 The Van Der Woodsen Penthouse

Unseen for the entirety of the first season, the Van der Woodsen penthouse makes its grand debut in season two. A modern take on old-school glamour, this set may not actually located on the Upper East Side, but reality has no place in Gossip Girl.

Two distinctive pieces of art decorate the spacious living room. One, a pop art portrait, and the other, a Prada Marfa lightbox. The one red wall clashes with the rest of the white decor, creating an enveloping sense of warmth that certainly makes this home one of the most memorable in the series.

1 The Waldorf Penthouse

The ultimate piece of real-estate in the show, the Waldorfs’ penthouse is nothing short of incredible. This spectacular location is the stage for many of Gossip Girl’s iconic moments.

The elevator opens into a spacious living room overlooking Central Park. It has at least four private bedrooms, although fans never get to see the totality of the apartment. The decor is classic and conservative, everything one might wish to see in an Upper East Side interior. With flowers on every surface and natural light flooding the entire space, the Waldorf Penthouse is the perfect representation of everything Gossip Girl stands for.
