Pets in video games have been a staple for several generations, so much so that entire social media accounts have been dedicated to the idea of petting creatures within those games. In the case of Grounded, players will first need to create a Pet House when looking to get a pet. In order to unlock the recipe to create it, players will need to analyze Mushroom Brick. They will then also need to ensure they have food to feed wild bugs to begin taming them. This guide will show players how they can have their own pets in Grounded.

How To Tame Pets in Grounded

After the player has successfully created the Pet House in Grounded, they will be given two different options for the type of pet they wish to own, Aphids and Weevils. Players will need to first create a slurry, which can be made at the Grinder station. Slurry is the snack players will feed to the pet to begin forming a bond. It can be created from plant fiber or mushrooms in the area.

Players will need to continue to feed the Aphid or Weevil enough of the slurries and eventually, they will join the player’s party as a pet. Players can then drop them off at the Pet House or continue on their adventure with their pet by their side.

Pets in Grounded allow players to form a stronger connection with other creatures while exploring the backyard. While having a pet does nothing outside of its cosmetic purpose, it’s just nice to have someone to share this experience with. Grounded will likely continue to introduce more pets for players to tame in future updates. It’s still in its early stages, so Grounded has plenty of room to add several other tameable creatures to the roster, like the adorable jumping spiders or ladybugs.

Grounded is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
