Prior to the new August update for Grounded, players completed their main story missions by investigating the Oak Tree and meeting Burgl, a friendly robot who trades missions for Raw Science and helpful in-game upgrades. Burgl will give players daily missions, which they can complete for extra materials, to get more comfortable moving around the map, and to earn Raw Science points. Raw Science can be traded at Burgl’s Tech Chip Swap Shop for upgrades like more stamina, longer-lasting torches, more space in a canteen to hold more liquid, and multi-story bases.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

One of the first things players had to do upon meeting Burgl was find one of his tech chips. This was a simple find, as it was located close to the lab. This chip unlocked the shop and some of its goodies. New chips were added in the August update, allowing players to return them to Burgl for new rewards and benefits. One of the new chips is called the Cold Blood Burgl Chip. Players will find this stained chip near a can of paint in the backyard. While there aren’t many rewards for finding and returning this chip yet, for players wanting to complete their challenges and get more Raw Science, here’s where to find the stained Burgl chip.

Find the Cold Blood Burgl Chip Location in Grounded

Players can find the Cold Blood stained Burgl chip in the southern part of the map, shown in the image above. They will know they are in the right place if they see a paint can in the color of Brick Red. Sometimes, there will be spilled paint on the ground around the can, but some players have reported not seeing this detail in the game.

Players will want to watch out for wolf spiders, as there are a few located in the surrounding area. They will also want to be careful of Lawn Mites, which like to jump out and attack the player on their way to the paint can.

On the side of the can, in the paint spilling from the sides, players will find the stained Burgl chip. They will need to interact with it to pick it up, then make their way back to Burgl.

Players should give the chip to Burgl, who will insert it into his head. Normally, this would unlock a new perk. However, there has been a reported glitch where no new reward perk pops up when giving this chip to Burgl. Because the game is still in early access and was only just recently updated, it is possible there are still some issues that need patching. Players should still complete this quest in case a patch retroactively applies the reward perk. Returning this chip to Burgl also rewards players 100 Raw Science.

Grounded is in early access and is available for PC and Xbox One. The full version is set to launch in 2021.
