A Reddit user decided to ask the Grand Theft Auto Online subreddit what their favorite in-game moments or additions of 2021, and fans did not hold back on their answers. 2021 was a big year for Rockstar Games and GTA Online. With the release of two different major updates in GTA Online – Los Santos Tuners, and The Contract – plus smaller weekly updates, fans were able to get their fill of new content this past year.

Since its release in 2013, GTA Online has seen multiple updates throughout the years. Some updates were to simply improve gameplay and equal the in-game playing field a bit more, but others revamped gameplay and content. Rockstar has always made a point to keep the community updated and make sure that the online play stays relatively fresh. The updates usually include new vehicles and purchasable items like weapons and clothing. Some more major updates added new game-play styles like the more recent GTA Online racing mode Kart Krash: Full Auto where players can race around and essentially play Mario Kart style but using weapons instead of Blue Shells and bananas.

Reddit user brotherbrother99 asked series fans what their favorite additions or memorable moments from this year’s releases were, and there were a lot of different answers. A few Reddit users mentioned Cayo Perico, which officially released December of 2020, but got major updates and drops throughout 2021. Another player said that their favorite part was the “F. Clinton and Partner” agency, which is an agency started by Franklin Clinton, of GTA V fame, that helps celebrities find lost items, amongst other more nefarious tasks they need players to do. Franklin’s addition was included in the most recent update for GTA Online known as The Contract – also a popular choice from fans discussing the best of GTA Online 2021, with many users saying they enjoyed catching up with Franklin and Lamar.

The GTA Online subreddit did agree on one topic: collective disdain for NPCs KDJ and Sessanta in the Los Santos Tuners update. KDJ and Sessanta were heavily bashed by players when the update was first released and it seems as though players’ opinions on them have not changed. The pair might be some of the most disliked characters in the GTA Online updates to date. The rest of the Los Santos Tuners update was well-regarded in the comments, with one poster mentioning how much they enjoyed the game’s car meet-ups.

With the year ending and Grand Theft Auto Online having no foreseeable updates, fans can reminisce on their favorite moments from this year and share their favorite memories with other players. The hope for 2022 is that Rockstar will finally announce the highly anticipated GTA 6; but for now, players can look forward to Grand Theft Auto V‘s Next-Generation port due out in March 2022 and hopefully additional updates.
