In GTA Online there are tons of strange mysteries to find and things to unlock. It can be hard to get started even without hackers running rampant (especially when there’s an alien gang war going on). The Diamond Casino and Resort update brought even more content into the already busy streets of Los Santos and its surrounding areas. One of those additions is a serial killer in the desert north of the city.

This madman has left five bloody clues around Blaine County. Finding them will trigger an encounter with the serial killer himself and besting him will unlock his Navy Revolver. The clues can be found in any order, but this guide will explain how to get them all, take down the serial killer, and earn his trusty six-shooter.

Finding the 5 Serial Killer Clues in GTA Online

While it doesn’t matter what order the clues are found, their appearance can be a little buggy and inconsistent. Leaving and rejoining a session will fix most issues without causing a loss of progress. When a clue is near, an ominous pounding sound will begin and eventually the tortured screams and whispers of the serial killer’s victims can be heard. In case the sound isn’t clear, the player’s controller will also rumble when near a clue until the clue is interacted with.

The Killer’s Taunt

The first clue to find is a message from the serial killer himself. This can be found in Great Chaparral on the wall of Cherry Pie Farm. Listen for heartbeats and whispers while approaching the building and there will be a message written on the wall that reads, “Can you find me?” It’s easiest to spot at night, as the message is clearly lit up by a wall-mounted lamp.

The Severed Hand

The next clue is northeast, right around the Sandy Shores Airfield. Just northwest of the northern-most landing strip is a ditch. Investigate the ditch and find a bloody hand in between a trash bag and old tire.

The Lost Machete

Continue north and around the Alamo Sea to find the next clue in Grapeseed. There is a barn here with a bloody machete lodged in its door. Some players have noted that the machete doesn’t always appear but that they’re still able to interact with the door and get the clue to register. If this particular clue continues to be buggy, leaving and rejoining the session should fix the problem.

The Bloody Hand Print

It’s time to head out of the desert and up to the northwest corner of the map. In Paleto Forest is the Bayview Lodge. Search the parking lot for a shed with a bloody handprint on its door.

The Killer’s Van

Of course the serial killer has a suspicious van to carry his victims in! While this is the biggest clue in terms of size, it’s also the trickiest to find. The black van spawns at night and can be found in 1 of 5 different spots. If possible, take to the air to get a better view of the black van tucked away in its secluded parking spot. Here are the five different possible places to find the van:

Kill the killer and get the Navy Revolver in GTA Online

After all 5 clues are found, the serial killer will set out to kill the player. In order to get this interaction to occur, the player must be in the desert and it must be nighttime. A red skull icon will appear on the mini-map when the killer is near. While he might be known for his antique gun, he’ll come to the fight with a machete. Simply show the serial killer that he came ill-prepared, blast him away, and say hello to the Navy Revolver.
