The new weekly update for Grand Theft Auto Online includes the Vapid Slamtruck as a Podium car and other bonus rewards. GTAOnline’s Podium car prizes were first introduced with the advent of the Diamond Casino & Resort content update in July 2019. Notably, the Podium vehicle often counts as the top prize for those who win big after spinning the Diamond Casino & Resort’s Lucky Wheel, a gambling game located in the casino lobby.

Weekly patches are regular occurrences for GTA Online; they act as interstitials between the larger content releases, the most recent of which went live two weeks ago in the form of The Contract. The update in question revolved around the return of Grand Theft Auto V protagonist Franklin Clinton, who’s grown into a legitimate businessman since heist days with Michael de Santa and Trevor Philips. Dr. Dre served an integral role in the update as well, playing himself in a story wherein he loses a phone filled with unreleased music tracks.

GTA Online’s latest weekly update is now live, offering up a brand-new Podium car for Lucky Wheel winners. According to Rockstar Newswire (via Dexerto), the Vapid Slamtruck count as this week’s Podium vehicle and will remain up for grabs until January 5, 2022. Better still, all players get one free spin on the wheel, which could also result in winnings that include snacks, clothes, mystery prizes, RP, and GTA$. Working with “legendary hustler” Franklin Clinton on Payphone Hits and Security Contracts will also net players 50 percent RP and GTA$ bonuses. Double rewards also apply to Sell Missions, Tiny Racers, Resurrection, and VIP Work and Challenges for the week.

As always, these types of in-game offers could entice active users and lapsed Grand Theft Auto Online players alike to rejoin the fun. The potential of winning a Slamtruck sounds like a decent enough incentive, especially since Southern San Andreas Super Autos typically sells the industrial vehicle for well over $1 million.

Rockstar Games’ recent rollout of The Contract update implies the studio is not yet finished with major content releases for the ever-popular multiplayer suite. In fact, GTA Online will likely receive a new lease on life when it migrates to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms sometime in March of next year.

Grand Theft Auto Online is playable now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.
