Grand Theft Auto Online is receiving its newest utility vehicle, the Vapid Slamtruck, and it is sure to cause even more freeway mayhem. Along with the new truck, other similarly themed items and events will be coming to the game in this latest update.

The Slamtruck was originally added last month during the Cayo Perico heist update but was unavailable for players to own. While Grand Theft Auto 6 may be a long way from finished (to say the least), Grand Theft Auto Online is continuing to receive sporadic content updates to keep things interesting, outside of the big heists. A new vehicle has released in-game, alongside a 2x cash and RP event that will last through January 27.

Per an official Rockstar press release, the new utility/stunt vehicle, the Vapid Slamtruck, is now available for purchase in GTA Online. The truck costs $1,310,000 and can be purchased from Southern San Andreas Super Autos. The Slamtruck is a traditional-looking two-door pickup truck, but instead of a flatbed, it has a ramp attached to the back of it. The Rockstar release had quite a bit to say about the new vehicle.

Due to a recent spate of accidents involving this model, Vapid wants to remind any potential buyers that a common side effect of driving the Slamtruck is the constant stream of idiots attempting to clear your ramp on the freeway. See one coming? For the love of god, duck.

Indeed, the Slamtruck’s main purpose appears to be letting players engage in some extreme stunts and launch themselves across Los Santos. The update also offers boosted 2x cash and reward points for completing both Bunker Series and Gunrunning missions. Gunrunning in particular is one of the most efficient ways to make money in GTA Online, so the boost could be especially lucrative for players trying to grind for a quick profit.

The event starts today, January 21, and will last until January 27, so players will have some time to test their luck at the casino or perhaps make some quick cash instead. Meanwhile, the Slamtruck is sure to cause more freeway shenanigans as players find different ways to pull of some ridiculous stunts in Grand Theft Auto Online.
