One Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition player has discovered a new game-breaking bug in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, preventing them from saving via the title’s in-game floppy disks. Following its release on November 11th, the long-anticipated GTA trilogy remaster received backlash due to a large variety of graphical glitches, game-breaking bugs, and performance issues that prohibited players from enjoying the title. Unfortunately, its rocky launch worsened, as the GTA Definitive Edition‘s PC version was subsequently taken down, angering many fans that rushed to refund the collection despite Rockstar Games promising to bring about future updates to improve the game’s performance, graphics, and numerous technical issues.

The long-anticipated GTA trilogy remaster officially launched November 11th across consoles and PC a month after its initial announcement in October. The remastered collection allows modern audiences to experience Rockstar’s PS2-era sandbox classics – Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas overhauled with graphical enhancements, a variety of general improvements, and modernized gameplay mirroring Grand Theft Auto V. Backlash, however, quickly began when leaked pre-release gameplay led to overwhelmingly negative early impressions from fans – many of whom criticized the GTA Definitive Edition for appearing as a refurbished version of the previously maligned mobile ports.

Issues regarding the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition continue to be discovered, as one player has run into a new game-breaking bug in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Posted on Reddit, user Agozza97 shared a clip of what appears to be a bug that prevents players from saving the game. During the short clip, the player can be seen at the Doherty Garage in San Fierro attempting to save their game by collecting the title’s numerous save point floppy disks. Sadly, after picking up the floppy disk, no save screen appears and the player is left wandering around in disbelief.

Though other players in the comments mention that the bug is exclusive to the remaster, recurring glitches from previous versions of the title are common in the Definitive Edition. Players recently discovered a cannon glitch in GTA San Andreas that hurls vehicles and other objects at unpredictable speeds once encountered. This is one of the many returning bugs from the past and the GTA trilogy remaster collection has only made it more overt.

Though an influx of glitches and bugs continue to plague the GTA Trilogy and prohibit fans from enjoying the title, the collection is no longer in a broken state as that of its disastrous launch. Rockstar Games is beginning to push out updates to correct many of its issues and difficulties, and sooner or later the title might shape into what was originally envisioned by Rockstar Games.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will launch separately on iOS and Android in 2022.
