Actress Danielle Harris shares never-before-seen photos of her time on the set of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. John Carpenter released his original horror classic in 1978. Sequels were still being pumped out in the late ’80s, but they failed to match the critical praise of the first. After Halloween 3: Season of the Witch failed to turn Halloween into an anthology series, Michael was brought back in Halloween 4 to save the franchise. Unfortunately, despite Michael Myers’ return, Halloween 4 and are considered two of the poorer additions to the franchise.

Harris first appeared in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers as Jamie Lloyd, Michael Myers’ seven-year-old niece. It was established in the fourth film that Laurie Strode died in an accident leaving her daughter Jamie to be adopted by the Carruthers family. Halloween 4 revolved around Michael returning to Haddonfield after 10 years to kill his niece. Halloween 5 followed a similar premise, with Michael again trying to track down Jamie. Jamie’s story arc concluded in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers in 1995, although J.C. Brandy replaced Harris.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

It’s been over 30 years since Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers came out, and Harris is looking back on her time in the horror franchise. The images show her goofing off with Michael Myers, although it’s impossible to tell if it is actor Don Shanks or one of his stunt doubles under the mask. The third image shows Harris with her co-stars Shanks (Michael Myers), Wendy Foxworth (Tina Williams), and Jeffrey Landman (Billy Hill). Harris’ original post can be read below:

It’s no surprise that more people are familiar with Jamie Lee Curtis over Harris. That being said, Jamie Lloyd was still a memorable character in the Halloween franchise. Jamie was an important character in the late ’80s to the mid-’90, but the character has been retconned from the current timeline. David Gordan Green’s 2018 Halloween took place 40 years after the original Halloween. This effectively retconned every sequel’s storyline, erasing Jamie as Laurie’s daughter and the brother-sister relationship between Laurie and Michael. Harris wasn’t one of the many actors to return for the current trilogy, yet Rob Zombie did bring her back for his two Halloween movies as Sheriff Brackett’s daughter.

Harris was eleven-years-old when Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers was released in 1988, and Harris had little acting experience before being cast in the franchise. As mentioned above, Halloween 4 and didn’t get stunning reviews; however, looking back, many have learned to appreciate Halloween 4 and Harris’ performance. The actress had to act terrified in both films and had to act mute in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. Acting in general can be tough on children, especially in horror movies. However, it looks like her co-stars made sure she felt safe during filming, reminding her that it’s all just a movie.
