The Halo Infinite multiplayer beta rolled out for players to try for free and early on November 15th. But much like with any new live service, there are a few teething problems that need fixing since its early release. Earlier this week, a blue screen problem in Halo Infinite prevented players from starting the game. The latest bug to crop up involves in-game challenges that launched with the first season of the battle pass in Halo Infinite.

Players started to notice that the Challenges in Halo Infinite were not tracking due to a bug. Due to this problem, players who completed particular challenges in the game could not receive any bonus XP or rewards. Unfortunately, due to the challenges bug in Halo Infinite, there is no way for players to get the rewards and have to complete the challenges all over again.

The main problem with challenges in Halo Infinite is that the in-game progression system is not tracking any progress right now. As a result, players who completed some of the challenges in Halo Infinite‘s battle pass cannot obtain any of the rewards or XP right now. Unfortunately, while this may be frustrating for players who worked hard at completing these challenges, there are few things they can do to fix the bug in Halo Infinite.

How To Fix Halo Infinite Challenges Not Working Bug

The developers have not officially fixed the challenges bug as of now; however, there are a few things players can try to fix the problem in Halo Infinite:

  • Instead of playing with friends, try joining a random team. This method has helped some players fix the problem.
  • Switch one of the challenge items to a different one to reset the in-game progression system.
  • Restart the Xbox or PC and relaunch the game if the above solutions do not work.
  • The final fix involves players reinstalling Halo Infinite on their Xbox or PC.

What’s Causing Challenges to Not Work in Halo Infinite

There is no official explanation from 343 Industries about what’s causing the challenges bug in Halo Infinite. However, the developers are aware of the problem and are issuing an update to add the “Play 1 Game” challenge to make up for the bug. 343 Industries will also be removing some of the Weekly Challenges, presumably to mitigate the challenges bug in Halo Infinite. It’s worth pointing out that the update will reset all challenge progress for players when it is eventually rolled out. Players who log in from November 23rd to November 30th will be gifted the “Sigil Mark VII Visor” to make up for the reset.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.
