Halo Infinite: The Best Weapons to Get First (& How to Find Them)

The semi-open-world campaign of Halo Infinite allows players to explore many areas of Zeta Halo to get the best weapons that are scattered across the ring. The first best weapons that players can use in Halo Infinite will help them progress through fights more easily, particularly with weapons that can land headshots. Additionally, players can find several types of ammunition caches across Zeta Halo, allowing them to keep their guns as they travel across the ring to stop the Banished.

Halo Infinite’s ammunition types are split into Kinetic, Plasma, Hard Light, and Power. Each of these caches will refill these types of weapons; for example, Kinetic ammunition will refill most UNSC weapons and some Banished weapons like the Needler or Halo Infinite’s new Mangler. As players set off to complete side missions in Halo Infinite like rescuing Starlight Squad, or other groups of Marines, they’ll usually come across UNSC weapons scattered in the immediate vicinity. Every time players capture a new Forward Operating Base, their map will be updated to reveal the location of a new squad of Marines that needs assistance. Head to these rescue operations to find the best weapons early in Halo Infinite, and continue looking for ammunition caches.

Additionally, players will also increase their Valor in Halo Infinite every time they complete a rescue operation or another side mission. When players reach a certain Valor for each item, they’ll unlock new weapons and vehicles to be requisitioned at a nearby FOB. Getting more Valor quickly in Halo Infinite means that players will need to complete these side missions as soon as possible.

Furthermore, players can often find the Mangler itself on common Brutes and some Jackals, making it an easy weapon to acquire and get more ammunition from fallen enemies.
