Halo: Master Chief Collection Bots Teased & Explained By Developer
The possibility of bots coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection in the future has received a boost after recent comments from a 343 Industries employee. The game, which received a negative reception when it first launched in 2014, has been steadily improved over the last few years. The Halo collection continues to get updates, with the developer adding more features and content to the title to keep it relevant.
Just a few days ago, dataminers discovered a mysterious feature in the files of Halo: The Master Chief Collection that mentioned adding bots to the game. An image of a Spartan included the text ADD_BOT.png, prompting speculation online that 343 Industries was looking to give users the option of creating multiplayer matches with AI-controlled players. Bots have never been included in any mainline release, although it has often been requested by fans. But now, news from 343 indicates that this feature may be coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection in the future.

The most recent update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection added a new game mode to several titles in the bundle. Escalation Slayer is a variant that resembles Gun Game from the Call of Duty series. Every time a player gets a kill, they get access to a new weapon, and the mode is available in Halo: Reach, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo 4. There are some tweaks to the general formula to keep things fresh, including the ability to play Escalation as part of a team of four rather than as a free-for-all match.
If bots were to ever come to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it would likely be welcomed by many fans. Such a feature would allow those who don’t want to focus entirely on playing with other real players or who want to test out Forge creations or game mode variants. Adding the mechanic to this collection would also allow 343 Industries to test it before any possible inclusion in Halo: Infinite. Many Halo fans will be keeping an eye out to see if bots are eventually added.
