Harley Quinn and Cruella are likely up to no good in new pieces of DC/Disney crossover art. Despite existing in two very different universes, Harley and Cruella seem to hold a connection between them. To begin with, both ladies took to the big and small screens this year. Cruella arrived first, premiering back in May at a time when the U.S. box office was in desperate need of some signs of life. Starring Emma Stone as the iconic Disney villainess, Cruella proved to be a surprise hit in its theatrical and Disney+ Premier Access runs, and a sequel is already in the works.

Harley, meanwhile, stepped up for her third cinematic appearance in August’s The Suicide Squad. Having already previously starred in the 2016 Suicide Squad and last year’s female-fronted Birds of Prey, Harley (played by Margot Robbie) got to experience quite the journey in James Gunn’s semi-reboot, semi-sequel. Not only did she (briefly) find love, but she was the centerpiece of one of The Suicide Squad‘s biggest action scenes… and she did it all while wearing a red ballgown.

There are many similarities to be found between these two anti-heroines, so it’s fitting that digital artist César put Harley and Cruella together for a crossover edit. Shared online this past weekend, the two images find Cruella and Harley side by side, looking somewhat distraught at first before switching to scheming mode in the second. They’re not the only crossover pair included in the post either. Check it out down below.

When the first Cruella trailer was released earlier this year, many fans immediately commented on how the gritty origin story positioned Cruella as a spiritual sister to Harley. Between their punk styles and love of anarchy, it was easy to see how Cruella could’ve been Disney’s response to Birds of Prey. These days, Harley is more of a hero in the DCEU, but her appreciation for chaos and the morally grey still fits her in well with Cruella’s side of things.

Both Cruella and Harley are expected to turn up again on the big screen, so don’t be surprised if more imaginary crossovers between the two crop up. Cruella has the aforementioned sequel from Disney, while Harley once had a multitude of projects in development for the DCEU. Exactly which one will be Harley’s next DCEU showcase remains to be seen, but fans and Robbie are both excited for what lies ahead. Everyone will just have to stay tuned to see what’s next.
