In the Harry Potter series, Molly Weasley was one of the most important presences in Harry’s life. She gave him a family, a motherly presence, and love. To her, Harry wasn’t The Chosen One, he was a young boy who needed her protection. And she, being the remarkable woman that she was, readily gave it to him, despite having a large family of her own and little means.

The films didn’t include all of her moments from the books, but the scenes that were shown were enough to make audience members love her.

10 Platform 9 3/4

Molly Weasley was first introduced to audience members in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone. A lost and confused Harry searched for platform 9 3/4 after Hagrid left him to his own devices. Lo and behold, there was the Weasley family, also on their way to the platform at just the right time.

“Platform 9 3/4 this way!” Harry approached Mrs. Weasley and she kindly told him what to do, showing him her legitimacy with the aid of the twins as they disappeared through the brick wall.

9 “Where Have You Been!?”

When Ron, Fred, and George hatch an escape plan for Harry, they steal their dad’s Ford Anglia. After breaking the bars off Harry’s windows and executing their plan, they arrive home in the early hours of the morning to think they’ve got off scot-free.

The inquiry they received by their mother, who was both exasperated and furious at what had been done and delighted to see Harry, made for one of the most Molly-Weasley-appreciative scenes.

8 Her Relationship With The Twins

Mr. and Mrs. Weasley have seven children: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny. The movies don’t allow for every moment of their chemistry to be shown on screen, or their relationships with their parents. But the films do give a bit more time to cover Molly Weasley’s reactions to the twins’ antics.

This included how they fooled around with their names, “Only joking, I am Fred,” and when the twins came of age and apparated everywhere, “Just because you’re allowed to use magic now, does not mean you have to whip your wands out for everything!”

7 The Howler

Ah yes, the howler. How can anyone forget? When Harry and Ron decided that the only logical thing to do when unable to get on to the platform was to fly the magical Ford Anglia to Hogwarts, it made for one of their unwisest and most entertaining decisions.

Besides the fact they were smashed by The Whomping Willow and told off by the teachers of Hogwarts, Ron also received a Howler from his mother, which was opened for all to hear in The Great Hall.

6 Diagon Alley

In Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, Harry is still pretty new to the world of magic, so it’s no surprise he is in awe of The Burrow. He is also especially new to the concept of Floo Powder, the method The Weasley’s use to travel to Diagon Alley. Ron goes first, suggesting he show Harry how it works.

Harry goes after, only to be engulfed in green flames, causing him to say “diagon-elly.” Mrs. Weasley asks her husband “what did he say, dear?” only to be told exactly what she heard, “I thought he did.”

5 Her Crush On Lockhart

Mrs. Weasley has several soft spots, and one of them is for the famous and charming Gilderoy Lockhart. She is over the moon when Lockhart wants to take a photo with Harry for the newspaper and takes all her children’s copies of Magical Me to be signed.

This is one of the first times when audiences are introduced to the gushing and flustered side of her personality.

4 Loving Harry

Mrs. Weasley treated Harry like her son. She loved him, she sought to protect him, and even had trouble letting him go. She didn’t want him to become involved in The Order during the events of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix.

She included Harry in Christmas celebrations, family dinners, and knitted Harry a Weasley family sweater with an H on the front. She made sure he had everything he needed for school and made sure he was welcome.

3 Her Comforting Presence

Watch without paying attention and this moment might pass by in the blink of an eye. During the mourning scene in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Harry watches as the Weasley family grieve the loss of Fred Weasley.

George holds Ron in a tight embrace, tears streaming down his face, and Ron proceeds to kneel next to Fred, breaking down in tears. Molly Weasley, who has been by Fred’s side this whole time, strokes his head and Ron’s.

2 Her Love For Arthur

Not much of Arthur and Molly Weasley’s relationship is shown in the films, but the moments that were shown were golden. After Ron, Fred, and George save Harry from The Dursley’s in Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, Mrs. Weasley tells her husband, during breakfast, about how they flew the car.

Mr. Weasley’s reaction was not what she wanted to hear, but she responded in a playful way. In Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, a merry family Christmas is shown in Grimmauld Place, where Molly brings her husband to the table and says “Daddy’s Back!” The two of them provided as much love as possible to each other and their family.

1 Protecting Ginny From Bellatrix

In The Battle Of Hogwarts, the Weasley family suffered a tragic and horrific blow. Trickster and twin, Fred Weasley, was killed as he fought against The Dark Arts. And if Molly Weasley couldn’t be there for her son, she sure was going to protect her daughter from the assault of Bellatrix.

In a line many fans find badass and unforgettable, Mrs. Weasley told her opponent, “Not my daughter, you b**ch,” before proceeding to prevail against Bellatrix.
