Harry Potter: The Weasley Siblings, Ranked By Likability

Harry Potter super-fans have had their wait for Hogwarts Legacy elongated by a fair amount, but the news of returning Weasleys is a source of motivation for the lull ahead. Harry’s tenure at Hogwarts and his fight against Lord Voldemort was bolstered by the presence of Ron and his family — in fact, they were pivotal in his growth and adjustment as a wizard and as the Chosen One.

While Molly and Arthur became the parents he never had, the Weasley siblings provided love, entertainment, friendship, and laughter at all times. They were certainly a lively bunch, and the six of them had distinctive personalities of their own. While most of them were extremely affable, a couple were standoffish or just not as interactive as the others.

6 Percy Weasley

It’s no surprise that Percy Weasley was the least liked of all the Weasley brothers and sister because he never really made an effort to mingle with anybody else. Besides his romance with Penelope Clearwater, he kept to himself and hardly ever came out of his room. Many think he was the worst, while some think Percy was misunderstood, but his feelings of superiority and arrogance towards his family and friends was undoubtedly his worst quality.

If he had maintained his loyalty to his parents, then all of these traits could be forgiven. But it was hard to like him when he chose the Ministry and his ambition over his folks who had sacrificed a lot for him, and his refusal to admit his mistakes till the very last moment. If he had shown a bit of humanity or friendliness, Percy would have been better liked, but he came off as the least loyal character in Harry Potter.

5 Bill Weasley

Being the eldest of the Weasley siblings, it could have been easy for Bill to act like he was better, but his nature was friendly and accepting from the beginning. He met Harry and Hermione with Ron only in The Goblet of Fire, but he acted like a guide, protector, and buddy to all of them. Bill was helpful and responsible in a way that an older brother should be, but he also played the part of Ron’s best friend.

When Ron left the Trio in the Horcrux hunt, he approached Bill first because he knew he would not be judged. Bill kept his presence a secret and coached him, and later Harry, when they arrived at Shell Cottage. Always ready to defend Hogwarts and his friends, Bill would have been much more likable had fans seen more of him in the books and movies.

4 Charlie Weasley

A character who was better in the book than the movies, Charlie was a great friend and confidante to the Golden Trio whenever they needed it. He got them out of real trouble by agreeing to take care of Norbert(a) when Hagrid got her illegally, and his exuberant and daring nature made fans like Charlie a lot.

Tasked with handling dragons for the Triwizard Tournament, he even made time to cheer for Harry, excitedly telling his brother how incredible he was with the Hungarian Horntail. He was a reliable brother who always stepped in to help, like in the Battle of Hogwarts. Later in life, he played the role of the “cool uncle” who stayed unmarried but was loved by his nephews and nieces to bits.

3 Ginny Weasley

Few fans would have guessed how well Ginevra’s character would develop in the later books since she was a quiet, mousey child with a weird fascination for Harry Potter. However, upon Hermione’s advice, she focused on herself and that made her one of the most likable young women at Hogwarts.

Ginny played Quidditch like a pro, was friendly and popular in her house, and performed well academically. She bloomed into an extroverted and happy character, and even Harry could not ignore how much she had grown and achieved. Her sense of humor was like her twin brothers’, and she was loved even more for it. Her unwavering support for him also proved that Ginny was the right girl for Harry regardless of unpopular opinions about her.

2 Fred And George Weasley

Fred and George were everyone’s best buddies because they understood their problems as students and provided the most hilarious and effective solutions for them. The two of them were easy to approach and extremely amusing, which was why everyone from first-years to older Hogwarts students went to them for help. The only people who could dislike Fred and George were Argus Filch and teachers like Umbridge.

These two were true rebels, and they followed through on the causes they fought for. They didn’t like bullying or unnecessary rules, which was why they helped Harry find a hidden passageway to Hogsmeade. Fred’s loss felt like a personal one because, like George, he was a cherished wizard in the whole community, and many fans wish they could reverse his death in Harry Potter due to his likable nature.

1 Ron Weasley

When it came to being the most liked, Ron took the cake. Everything about the second-youngest Weasley was liked from the start — he became friends with Harry without knowing who he was, and when he did find out, he went through thick and thin to support him in the best way he could. From rescuing Harry from the Dursleys to being his companion in the adolescent struggles of chasing girls, Ron became a fast favorite with his sense of humor and quirky ways.

He was quick to defend Harry and Hermione, even if it meant that his own life was in danger. Ron had a tough life, but he still managed to find the shining, golden moments in it which made him the most loved Weasley family member.
