Harry Potter’s Tom Felton Reunites with His Original Draco Malfoy Costume

Harry Potter star Tom Felton poses with his original Draco Malfoy costume in a sweet photo shared on Instagram. Felton starred in each of the eight Harry Potter films that were released between 2001 and 2011, with his role as Draco Malfoy having established a fan-favorite status for the antagonistic character. 2021 marked 20 years since the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first film in the series which introduced audiences to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as well as the ensemble of young actors who brought these beloved characters to life. The pop-culture phenomenon that followed has seen the popularity of the Harry Potter franchise only grow over the years, more than a decade on from the release of the final film.

Felton’s Malfoy acted as the thorn in Harry’s side throughout the series, with the two belonging to rival houses, Slytherin and Gryffindor, respectively, and therefore continuously expressing their disdain for one another throughout the films. In the years since Harry Potter came to its emotional conclusion, Felton has gone on to star in a number of major projects, including Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the CW’s The Flash. Despite having moved on from his time as the bleach blonde bully, Felton has continued to delight fans by consistently referencing and discussing his time at Hogwarts, often sharing fun stories from the set and displaying his Slytherin pride in various ways.

Now, in a new photo shared on Instagram, Felton has reunited with one of his old Draco Malfoy costumes. Taken at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, which features a number of sets, props, and costumes from the films, Felton posed with one of Malfoy’s old Hogwarts school uniforms while standing in the Slytherin common room set. Referencing the considerable height difference, Felton sweetly captioned the image “Before & after,“ with many fans taking to comments to share how cute the photo is. Check out Felton’s post below.

Felton appears to be doing the rounds of various Potter-themed experiences, as the actor also recently shared an image of himself at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Wizarding World in which he sported a Slytherin sweater and sipped on a glass of Butterbeer. The star previously opened up about returning as Malfoy in the future, to which he revealed that he would jump at the opportunity to bleach his hair again, sharing that he would even happily return to play his own son. Last year’s highly anticipated Harry Potter reunion special reunited a number of the film’s stars, with Felton returning alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint to discuss the beloved franchise.

As Felton continues to delight Harry Potter fans with his call-backs to the Wizarding World, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Malfoy and whether there would be an opportunity to see Felton return to the character one day. The Harry Potter reunion special certainly reignited many people’s desire to see the cast return to their roles. However, with the Wizarding World‘s focus having now shifted to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, which will see its third installment release this month, it’s fair to say it could be a while until Felton has a reason to be back in his Slytherin robes on screen.
