Hailee Steinfeld made her MCU debut as Kate Bishop in the Disney+ original series Hawkeye, striking a chord with fans in her very first superhero outing. The character seems poised to one day take the mantle of Hawkeye from Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and become her very own version of the character.

With Hawkeye recently coming to a close, fans are left to wonder where they might see Kate Bishop next, as she has not yet been confirmed for any future MCU appearances (though her reappearance certainly seems inevitable). The specifics of her next MCU feature may be unclear, but there are several upcoming Marvel projects that seem more likely than others to feature Kate Bishop.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight is set to premiere sometime in the first half of 2022, promising to bring Oscar Isaac’s brutal crime-fighting hero into the larger MCU. Fans have seen little more than a single exciting teaser for the Disney+ Moon Knight series, but are adamantly excited for the implications of Moon Knight’s long-awaited entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While Moon Knight has been marketed so far as including solely the title character rather than the host of heroes that fans have come to expect from an MCU feature, it isn’t outside the realm of possibility for a certain purple-suited archer to make a cameo in the upcoming series. Marc Spector’s area of operations is often New York City, as seems to be the case in the MCU version. Given that Kate operates in the city, she may well make an appearance alongside the silver-suited hero.

Avengers 5

With the smash success of all four Avengers films, especially the latest two, a fifth installment in the landmark series seems as inevitable as Thanos, despite the fact that no such film has been specifically confirmed by Kevin Feige or anyone at Marvel Studios. That hasn’t kept fans from speculating about the prospective Avengers 5.

Whenever the fifth Avengers film finally finds theaters, it is sure to be an event unlike any other, likely sporting an enormous cast of superheroes. Given that Kate Bishop is partners with one of the original six Avengers, it is highly likely that she will make an appearance in the next team-up adventure. Many have speculated that the next film in the franchise could adapt the Secret Wars storyline in the comics, which sees Earth’s mightiest heroes clash with other universes in the vast multiverse. If she comes along for the ride, then Kate would certainly have her work cut out for her in keeping up with such a brawl.

Daredevil Project

Daredevil seems poised to return to the MCU in the near future, with events taking place in both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye that make it seem as if the Netflix Marvel characters have truly been MCU canon all along. As a result, it won’t be long until Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock makes his highly-anticipated next appearance.

Appearing alongside Daredevil is a perfect fit for Kate Bishop, seeing as both are street-level heroes fighting to keep New York City safe from the gangs that would subjugate the Big Apple under their thumb. The two heroes also share a common enemy in the Kingpin of Crime (Vincent D’Onofrio), who may still be at large after the finale of Hawkeye.

Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the third installment of the Ant-Man franchise, set to premiere in the summer of 2023. The film will be the first time its titular heroes have been seen since the universe-altering Avengers: Endgame in 2019, and is expected to be the next appearance for MCU newcomer Jonathan Majors, this time playing the frightening variant character of Kang the Conqueror.

Fans have plenty of reasons to be excited for the next installment of Marvel’s tiniest franchise. There has been very little revealed about the upcoming film, save for a handful of casting announcements. One such revelation was the recasting of the older Cassie Lang, played by Emma Fuhrmann in Avengers: Endgame, who has since been replaced by Katheryn Newton. This recast has been taken by many fans as an indication of Cassie’s future as the hero Stature in the Young Avengers. This plot point further suggests that Kate, a fellow Young Avenger may even join Ant-Man’s cast of supporting characters in an effort to set up the youthful superhero team.

Echo

Alaqua Cox made her acting debut in Hawkeye, where she played the skilled warrior Echo, aka Maya Lopez, who hunts down the Ronin, who killed her father during the Blip. After making several earth-shattering revelations about her father’s death and the role that her boss had played in the event, Maya turns against the only family she has left, leaving plenty of space to explore her character in her upcoming solo spinoff series.

There are several parallels between the characters of Maya and Kate, which would certainly make a team-up between the two an interesting spectacle for MCU fans. While little is yet known about the upcoming Echo series, Kate Bishop seems like the most likely cameo for the venture, and could be a valuable asset in Maya’s war with the Kingpin.

Solo Project

Kate showed her remarkable bravery in Hawkeye at every turn, never backing down from a fight. Given that the MCU has a remarkable number of spinoffs premiering on Disney+ with each new year, it is not outside the realm of possibility for Kate Bishop to receive her own series in the near future.

A Kate Bishop solo venture could address some of the questions left behind from Hawkeye‘s finale, including the extent to which Eleanor Bishop incriminated herself in her dealings with Wilson Fisk. Going out on her own, Kate could come to realize what kind of hero she wants to be in a world that is already teaming with superhumans.

Hawkeye Season 2

The finale of Hawkeye left several questions unanswered, including plenty about the Bishop family’s history, Armand’s death, and Kazi’s backstory. Though the series has came to an end, Marvel has yet to confirm whether it will receive a second season, like the preceding series Loki, or if it is a one-time limited event like WandaVision or The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Nevertheless, there is certainly enough material for the pair of adroit archers to appear in another season of their solo series.

While Hawkeye did not surpass the streaming numbers of the previous MCU series, it has generally been a hit among fans, who have praised the action of the series and the camaraderie between Clint and Kate. A second season would no doubt be well-received by viewers, especially if it chose to delve deeper into the Matt Fraction comics run that the series was initially based upon.

Young Avengers

One of the plotlines that the MCU’s Phase 4 seems to be exploring is the formation of the Young Avengers. Though the project is yet unconfirmed, several of the team’s core members have been introduced in recent projects, including Speed, Wiccan, Stature, and none other than Kate Bishop.

If Marvel Studios does indeed adapt a version of the Young Avengers team, Kate Bishop would invariably become a starring member of the group. The comic character has become one of the team’s most recognizable members, and one of the most popular. As such, the MCU version of the Young Avengers will need its Kate Bishop once it finally reaches its audience.
