Warning: SPOILERS lie ahead for Hawkeye episode 4.

Following its airing on Disney+, Hawkeye episode 4’s Twitter trends spoil the latest episode’s ending reveal of [SPOILER]’s arrival. The latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s small-screen roster centers on Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton as he tries to give his family a nice Christmas vacation in New York City following the events of Avengers: Endgame. However, when super fan Kate Bishop inadvertently dons the Ronin suit and attracts the attention of his past enemies, Barton must team up with the young archer to try and put the situation to rest and get to his family back in time for the holiday.

Renner leads the cast of Hawkeye alongside Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop in her MCU debut, Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/Echo and Zahn McClarnon. The series hails from head writer Jonathan Igla, who utilized Matt Fraction and David Aja’s 2012 Hawkeye comics run as key inspiration for the story of the show. Having premiered in late November, Hawkeye has received largely positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and has many on edge to learn the secrets in the remaining episodes, though one has already been revealed.

Just hours after the episode began streaming on Disney+, Hawkeye episode 4 began trending on Twitter with various hashtags and subjects attached to the series. One such subject was that of Yelena Belova’s return in the series following her tease in Black Widow, thus spoiling her appearance for those who have yet to watch the episode. The revelation of Florence Pugh’s Yelena appearing in Hawkeye episode 4 may not come as much of a surprise to some viewers given the Black Widow actress was confirmed to be appearing in the series as of late 2020. Additionally, a trailer for the episode teased her impending arrival as a mysterious masked figure was seen facing off against Clint and Kate. With the post-credits of Black Widow establishing the two would have a heated confrontation with Yelena being led to believe Clint killed her sister Natasha, those who saw the trailer quickly began connecting the dots between the two.

As with any show that follows a weekly release format, Twitter spoilers have been a problem for Hawkeye as well as the other Disney+ MCU series. One such example included the trending topics for WandaVision episode 5, in which Evan Peters’ false Quicksilver arrived at the end of the episode and was quickly spoiled online by the social media platform. With two episodes still to go of Hawkeye and reports that episode 5 will blow up the internet, viewers will have to be more vigilant in order to avoid the remaining major spoilers for the series.
