Hawkeye episode 5 will reportedly cause quite a commotion online when it airs. The fifth Marvel Studios and Disney+ series has already reached its narrative mid-point, releasing three episodes out of six. The show has effectively established Clint Barton’s (Jeremy Renner) new mission fighting Echo (Alaqua Cox) to preserve his secret past as Ronin. Hawkeye has also debuted Clint’s protege, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), who started the whole mess after she put on the vigilante’s suit and accidentally resurrected the ruthless samurai.

As Hawkeye season 1 enters its latter half, there are still a few things that need to be addressed. Aside from Barton and Bishop’s conflict with the Tracksuit Mafia, there’s also the mystery surrounding Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga) and Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton). Meanwhile, Yelena Belova’s (Florence Pugh) impending arrival is also anticipated following the events of the Black Widow post-credits scene. All of these questions will have to be addressed in the last three episodes of the Disney+ series. And now, it seems that if there’s one outing that viewers need to make sure not to miss, it’s Hawkeye‘s penultimate episode.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

When TV Line‘s inside scoop journalist, Matt Webb Mitovich, was asked recently about any updates regarding Hawkeye, Mitovich teased a big development. The reporter revealed that he’s heard that episode 5 “should blow up Twitter a bit.” That was the extent of the update, however, and Mitovich didn’t give any more information about what specifically audiences could expect from the episode. Nevertheless, this small teaser comment will certainly convince viewers to tune in when Hawkeye episode 5 releases on December 15.

Marvel/Disney+ series typically have strong penultimate outings. WandaVision revealed how exactly Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) brought Vision (Paul Bettany) back, and created the hex in Westview. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier saw Sam (Anthony Mackie) finally coming to terms with the reality that he is the rightful wielder of the shield as the new Captain America. Loki unveiled He Who Remains’ (Jonathan Majors) Citadel at the End of Time. And finally, Marvel’s What If…? featured the amazing fight between Ultron and the Watcher (Jeffrey Wright). Given this history, it will be interesting to see what Hawkeye episode 5 has in store for fans. Based on the events of the series so far, there’s a couple of possibilities.

Clearly, the most ideal scenario would be seeing Kingpin in the MCU (with a bonus point if he’s still played by Vincent D’Onofrio). There have been several Wilson Fisk clues peppered across Hawkeye episode 3, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Kingpin will eventually show up. There’s also a chance that the Twitter-breaking twist could be something Ronin-related. While Barton’s vigilante persona is at the center of Hawkeye‘s storytelling, not much has been revealed about his time as the samurai after Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) Snap in Avengers: Endgame. Hawkeyeepisode 5 is directed by Amber Templemore-Finlayson and Katie Ellwood, collectively known as Bert and Bertie, who also helmed the brilliant midseason offering. With the penultimate episode in such safe hands, fans are surely in for quite a treat.
