Gordon Ramsay’s hit series Hell’s Kitchen is a fan favorite for many reasons. Even after nineteen seasons, we never tire of Ramsay’s endless slew of delightful insults. We also never tire of seeing the contestants either rise to the challenge or crumble under the pressure to meet Ramsay’s standards. Every season, there’s always one chef who revels in the militaristic expectations of kitchen etiquette, and with Jordan Savell in the kitchen, this season is no different.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Jordan is 29 years old and lives in Forth Worth, Texas. This chef had plenty of experience under her belt when she entered Hell’s Kitchen. Prior to the show, Jordan had served as sous chef at The Oceanaire and executive chef at Chamberlain’s Steak and Chop House. She’d also been the general manager at Landmark Bar and Kitchen. With all that good experience in her back pocket, Jordan really came to compete on Hell’s Kitchen. Jordan took to Ramsay’s orders like a fish to water, and she was so serious about his demands and instructions that he himself even called her a soldier. During

During Jordan’s time on Hell’s Kitchen, she made a lot of friends on her team, and though she wasn’t always the best chef, she was certainly amongst the top motivators within the bunch. Perhaps her good nature came from the fact that Jordan had gotten sober just six months prior to filming the season in November 2018. She broke down a few times on the show due to the pressure, but with her teammates’ support, she always rallied back stronger than ever. Almost as if her sobriety was propelling her to try and work harder. Her attitude was always inspiring.

Though Jordan did not go on to win the grand prize, she placed seventh and learned a lot from her time on the show, ultimately making the most of the Hell’s Kitchen experience. Since leaving the competition, Jordan opened a food truck called Bullfish Foods. She serves sandwiches that appear to be extremely well-made. Her debut menu included the classics: pastrami on rye, a grilled cheese, a French dip, a Reuben, and a Cuban, and of course they were all served up with Jordan’s own special spices and sauces.

As for how Jordan feels about Gordon Ramsay’s infamous temper? Jordan says, “No one makes it off that show unscathed. But it’s only because he’s so passionate about what he does. He wants excellence all the time.” A solider to the end, this Hell’s Kitchen contestant still has the can-do attitude that made her shine in the kitchen.

Hell’s Kitchen airs Thursdays at 8pm ET on Fox
