One ambitious Marvel fan assembles all shots of Captain America’s ass in Avengers: Endgame. Chris Evans wrapped up his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in Avengers: Endgame. After helping to defeat Thanos, Captain America returned the Infinity Stones to their points in the timeline and stayed in the past to live out a life with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). Captain America’s ending with Peggy Carter has been heavily debated among fans, especially in terms of what it means for the timeline, but it’s just one way in which the Endgame writers and directors tried to give Cap an appropriate sendoff.

Along those same lines, Avengers: Endgame included plenty of fan service moments to give viewers an epic movie experience and wrap up any loose story threads. One way Endgame did this was with the crucial moment when Captain America wields Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, which was a pivotal – and incredibly epic – scene in the final battle against Thanos. But while Captain America fighting Thanos with Mjolnir was a more serious moment, there was also plenty of humor to be had in the Star-Spangled Man’s honor. In fact, Avengers: Endgame features a running joke about Captain America’s butt, seemingly in reference to the fans’ love of Steve Rogers’ derrière.

One Marvel fan on Reddit, isaidwhatisaidok, assembled every shot of Captain America’s ass in Avengers: Endgame. In a comment on the Reddit post, isaidwhatisaidok explained there are at least 54 shots of Captain America’s butt in Endgame, excluding those where only part of the character’s butt is visible. Further, the user specified they can’t confirm all of the butt shots are Evans, since some are likely doubles, particularly in the Cap vs. Cap fight. Check out the Reddit post below.

Producer Louis D’Esposito explained after the film hit theaters that the Captain America’s ass joke in Avengers: Endgame almost didn’t make it into the movie. Still, the filmmakers debated whether it was in character for Captain America, eventually deciding it was. There are likely Marvel fans who do feel the Captain America ass jokes are out of character for Steve Rogers or make light of the MCU hero. After all, MCU movies have received criticism for their use of humor in the past. But fan fascination with Captain America’s butt is all in good fun, proving that MCU fans will take their equal opportunity eye candy where they can get it. (Sure, Marvel has its requisite shirtless hero scenes, but some would argue Captain America’s butt shots trump even those.) Of course, this Reddit post only compiles scenes from Avengers: Endgame, so there’s sure to be plenty more shots of Captain America’s butt in previous MCU movies.

Since Avengers: Endgame marks the end of Evans’ time as Steve Rogers in the MCU, it’s time for someone to assemble a comprehensive list of all the shots of Captain America’s ass in the Marvel franchise. It would be a public service; after all, that is America’s ass.
