Hitman 3 has been out for about a week and has received praise for its story, levels, and successful conclusion to the trilogy. Despite only being out for a short period of time, speedrunners may have already achieved an almost unbelievable record that may be next to unbreakable.

Hitman 3 has a high-level of replayability. The game features different options for completing levels, challenges to complete, and of course, a leaderboard that taunts players with an ego. While Hitman 3 features an in-game leaderboard that tracks things like speed, stealth, and general efficiency, some speedrunners have taken matters into to their own hands. Even just a day or so after the game had released, clever players were beating Hitman 3’s first level in seconds.

The very first level in Hitman 3 takes place in a wildly tall Dubai skyscraper. The player is tasked with eliminating two targets who are in the building and can be found near each other quite early on if the right infiltration point is used. If fast enough, this can result in a whopping 8-second speedrun which will be difficult to beat given there aren’t many places to shave off those extra seconds. Two players, Wreak and Goron, are currently tied for the position on Speedrun.com (via PC Gamer). You can take a look at their individual speedruns below.

It’s worth noting they aren’t number one in the world on the proper Hitman 3 leaderboards for this speedrun. Given they’re all about speed, the game shaves off a lot of points for bodies being discovered and the player being detected. It’s hard to say if anyone will manage to get it below 8 seconds but the previous record was 9 seconds and that didn’t take long to beat.

Hitman 3 has a number of levels and built-in tools that heavily encourage speedrunning. The final level of the game features multiple paths that allow the player to quickly get past enemies without being seen. There are also a number of distractions and weapons that can be used to quickly neutralize enemies without hindering the run. Needless to say, it has provided a lot of competition in a game that only has a handful of levels. While some of Hitman 3’s missions can take up to hours to finish on the first run, many players have cut subsequent runs down to mere minutes. Whether or not any players find additional ways to speedrun Hitman 3 content in a matter of seconds remains to be seen.
