Home Team: All Of Adam Sandler’s Family Members Who Appear In The Movie

Adam Sandler’s Home Team is filled with actors close to home for Sandler, including members of the star comedian’s own family. Home Team is a different film for Sandler; being based on a true story leans away from the wild antics he’s known to bring to his films. Luckily, the film finds a more authentic humor, brought out by Home Team’s cast.

Home Team’s story is based on the suspension of Sean Payton, former coach of the New Orleans Saints. After winning Super Bowl XLIV, Payton is forced away from his coaching position due to allegedly encouraging his players to injure their competitors with monetary bonuses. During his suspension, Payton attempts to reconnect with his fourteen-year-old son, subsequently coaching his son’s little league football team.

A handful of Sandler’s friends appear in Home Team; Kevin James stars as Coach Sean Payton and Rob Schneider features as Jamie, husband of Coach Peyton’s ex-wife. Sandler has a tendency to select both friends and family to star in his films, either alongside himself or under his creative direction. The chemistry between his casts creates a palpable sense of fun; the cast is enjoying their time together as much as the audience enjoys watching. Home Team is another entry in Sandler’s cornucopia of family comedies.

Is Adam Sandler In Home Team?

Adam Sandler unfortunately does not appear in Home Team. However, Sandler’s signature style is still apparent in the film, as he did produce Home Team through his company, Happy Madison Productions. While a classic Sandler performance would fit well with his long-time collaborators,’ fortunately Sandler’s family members carry his mantle through Home Team. Though Sandler is not in Home Team, he will appear in the sequel to his thriller-comedy film Murder Mystery.

Jackie Sandler

Jacqueline “Jackie” Sandler, Adam Sandler’s spouse, plays Beth, Coach Payton’s ex-wife. Beth puts aside her qualms about her ex-husband to aid his reconnection with their son. Jackie Sandler has appeared in many of her husband’s films, appearing as President’s Assistant Jennifer in Pixels and the voice of Martha in Hotel Transylvania.

Sunny Sandler

Sunny Sandler is one of Adam Sandler’s two daughters; in Home Team, she plays Brooke, a young heartthrob for some members of the team. The team’s kicker, Harlan, especially pursues Brooke. Sunny Sandler features in her father’s other films, too, as Sunny Tardio in Grown Ups and Cooky in Hubie Halloween.

Jared Sandler

Adam Sandler’s nephew, Jared Sandler, appears in Home Team as Eric, an incompetent hotel clerk. Jared Sandler often performs in his uncle’s work but extends his portfolio of acting to other projects as well. He features as Stuart in The Wrong Missy and also appears in Grown Ups 2 and The Goldbergs.
