When it comes to multiplayer gaming, most releases stick to a familiar formula. Whether fantasy or modern warfare, players can pick between sniping or close-range tactics with an array of firearms. Hood: Outlaws & Legends from developer Sumo Newcastle takes gamers back further in time to the mythic world of European swashbuckling and fights against a tyrannical king. A team of four mythical figures fight against an opposing team and all the king’s men as they attempt to raid treasures from the Sheriff of Nottingham. The game is due out this week, and publisher Focus Home Interactive has released specific details on what times the game releases.

Unlike a lot of multiplayer games in 2021, Hood: Outlaws & Legends did not have a public beta of any kind. This means that outside of a small group of closed beta testers, players don’t have a firm grasp of how Hood plays and feels. There have been Hood: Outlaws & Legends gameplay trailers and other official sneak peeks, but this week will be the first time the general public has the chance to grab a bow and become legends themselves.

Taking inspiration from similar PvPvE experiences like Hunt: Showdown, this third-person action game requires players to work together due to its class system. Hood: Outlaws & Legend‘s four characters are inspired by staples of the Robin Hood myth, with heroes based on the titular hero, Maid Marion, Little John, and Friar Tuck. Despite that inspiration, the game takes place at an unspecified point in time and avoids nailing down anything else about its setting, giving the developers the opportunities to take more creative liberties in future updates.

When Will Hood: Outlaws & Legends Release Around The World?

Hood: Outlaws & Legends releases on May 7 on PC and two generations of Xbox and PlayStation, with slightly different release times based on platform. Those on PC have the opportunity to jump in at 12:01 Paris time on launch day, which translates to 6 PM EDT on May 6 for players in the United States. Meanwhile, console owners will have to wait a bit longer, as their launch begins at 12:01 AM local time across the globe. Hood also supports cross-platform multiplayer, meaning that those who do jump in as soon as possible on console will hopefully find a good group of PC players who’ve already been enjoying the title.

It’s always exciting to get in right at the start of a new multiplayer title like Hood: Outlaws & Legends or the upcoming Chivalry 2. Everyone starts on an even playing field and learns the mechanics as they go, which allows every strategy to be viable for at least a few days. Thankfully, prospective players of the upcoming game now know exactly when it will release globally.
